Um divorcio e um filho... E o trauma que pode causar. Aqui temos dois grandes nomes Dastin Hoffman e Meryl Streep e é claro a criança Justin Henry.

    A good history

i didnt expect this movie to be this great. it was just recomemded by a friend.... and was really great. i was shocked how young streep and hoffman in this movie. i didn't even recognize hoffman here. the storyline is great. though streep just played a little part, i'm still not surprised why she won best-actress for this movie.... the movie is great as a whole but the ending was a bit unfinished.... the end is not the end.... the unfinished ending is very predictable but it would have been better if the happily-ever-after ending was shown...

This is the saddest movie in the universe! I cried during almost every scene of it. Great acting, great story, but with the classic seventies realistic unhappy ending. By the end I was praying for a happy ending, but it didn't happen, of course. I get teary-eyed just thinking about the little boy in this movie. Very hard to watch without bursting into tears, but if you love dramas, you will love this movie.

it was a nice movie, very touching, the last part was a little bit unfinished, it would have been more cool if there was a little bit of a continuation.the ending was pretty predictable. they both look very young, and i think that streep had a pretty small role. it was an hoffman film through and through

Another of the long line of movies that I cried over and over. The trial scene is genius, Hoffman's lines were simply one of the best scripts I have ever seen in a movie like this.

a great film that tackles some serious and relevant issues. the kid (Justin Henry) is adorable, and a good actor for his age.

So the other morning, I'm at the refrigerator... you know, getting Billy ready for school. So I'm just in my underwear and he notices I've lost weight. And he comes in and pats me. He comes up to here, and he says "Daddy, you've really lost a lot of weight", he looks up at me and he says "And it's all gone to your nose."

    My review:

When I first saw this film, I rated it 4.5 star but after I watched it for second time I have rated it 5 star and it has now become one of my favourite films. This film has a lot of lovely warm hearted moments and yet it has a lot of dramatic moments aswell. Dustin Hoffman delivers an outstanding performance as Ted Kramer but it isnt his best film though. I preferred his performance in Rain Man. Ted is a troubled business man. When his wife leaves him and leaves him with their son he becomes a different person and more of a loving person. His wife Joanna Kramer is portrayed by Meryl Streep in one of her first films and is my favourite performance from her. Joanna is a confused mother who starts to fall out of love with her husband Ted and is getting trouble with her son and starts to get stressed out of being around him but she says she loves Billy. Meryl Streep delivers one of my favourite Supporting Actress performances of all time. When the scene with the courts and the lawyer is questioning her, Meryl shows her real emotion and heartbreak incase she loses her son. Justin Henry is awesome as Billy Kramer. He delivers one of my favourite performances from a young actor/actress of all time. Dustin and Meryl deserved their Oscars but Justin should have won his Oscar in this film. This film is perfect for people who are single parents because it teaches you a lot of things about that. Also it teaches about what divorce is. It is also brilliant for peoples parents who have divorced in the past like mine have. This film is extremely underrated! I thought that this film deserved Best Picture because of the warm hearted story of the whole film. Apocalypse Now is a film I need to watch again and then I will decide properly then when I watch it again. Kramer Vs. Kramer is a brilliant family masterpiece!!

This is film at its absolute best. Dustin Hoffman finally wins the Oscar not for playing a truly unique roll, for which he is famously known. Instead, he plays a single father, with this role suddenly thrust on him at the film's onset; but plays it to such perfection that I barely registered that I was watching one of the greatest actors in film history. Interesting to note that most of the key scene (ice cream, courtroom testimony, etc) were either ad-libbed or reworked. Won the Academy Award for Best Picture for 1979 and deservedly so; you are cheating yourself of a truly moving and unforgettable film experience if you haven't watched Kramer vs. Kramer.

There's not a lot wrong with this sobering divorce drama. It's beautifully understated, poignant, insightful and really makes it very tricky to produce a decent film on the same subject again. Justin Henry is passable and Dustin Hoffman is good, but the star turn comes from Meryl Streep, who is truly outstanding as the conflicted mother. While there's nothing particularly surprising about the story, this is still an extremely worthwhile piece of work, and don't let the morose subject matter put you off.

I eventually got to see this after years of "i'll get round to it" and after bawling my eyes out can safely say it's now one of my favourites....... I've always been a fan of Hoffman but wow he was amazing in this. Such a simple story but the acting was so great that almost every scene has huge impact. Sensitive, realistic and well worth the wait!

Hoffman and Streep are on Oscar winning form to bring us a heartbreaking but at the same time delightful story of divorce and seperation. The father and son roles are brilliantly played.

just loved this movie, so so sad though. Duwtin was just amazing in the role, and as a girl who was raised by a single father i really felt some of the arguments he had to make. and Streep is just brilliant in making you hate her.

I liked it. Meryl Streep was amazing as always, Dustin Hoffman too! However I found the end a little...incomplete.

Such a well known film and yet my first viewing of it and I really enjoyed it.

My first thought was that women everywhere have been bringing up children and balancing work etc for years and years and along comes a man that does it and bam, a big film, however - I feel this films highlights how difficult life is for a single parent regardless of their gender.

Simple but very heart warming film. A dramatic masterpiece! Dustin gave his best in this film. The kid in this film is a natural actor, with no background or schooling in acting at all! I like the scene when he wanted to eat ice cream even though he hadn't had his breakfast yet :)

Good flick, a lot better than what i expected. Kramer vs. Kramer though a bit melodramatic at times is a solid drama with Hoffman shining throughout.

This movie was about what I thought it would be. I was not impressed. Every few years the Academy goes nuts over some rediculous movie and this is one of them. I thought the scene where the father has sex with his co-worker and she goes out of the room naked and happens to run into the boy was horrible. If that really happened no normal person would stand there and talk to the kid; they would run away in shame.

This won an Oscar? Maybe because it was so revolutionary for a man to want, nevertheless be granted custody of his child but I was unimpressed. Watchable, but not nearly as great as I expected.
