I heard that this film deviates from the book a lot. It was said that instead of fascinating the ancient world with modern technology, Dolf uses his knowledge learned from school to impress the crowd in the book. Well, I personally think that the romance/bond between Dolf and Jeanette isn't strong enough to have Dolf revisit the Dark Age. The romance element destroys the depth of the film.
first i thought to see a film for children, but it is not. nevertheless a good film for a history review of the hard life in the middle-ages...even if there are some lacks of direction...and accustomed character relationship
I read the book before i've seen the movie. There were a few changes in the movie. But that wasn't a bad thing. The global story line (which is good) was the same.
