Worst movie. Don't expect anything too spectactular. The heavy metal score for this is atrocious. The plot is retarded. Just the ending is so hilarious.
The heavy metal score for this is atrocious. The plot is retarded. I have no idea why I like it. Kevin Sorbo is scantily clad, though, and that's always good.
This moronic, sanitised version of Conan author Robert E. Howard's pulp fiction superhero of the 1930s is average, also features an irritating heavy-metal rock score.
Oh come on...disappointing much...it had a good plot but John Nicolella botched this whole thing...it was tasteless, vague and rushed...Kevin is so much better than this...
Now this is the kind of movie that gives the genre such a bad name. Two, the main character is literally a clone of Conan The Barbarian, with none of the interesting history.
Give this one a miss.
There is something about Kevin Sorbo but I couldnt see it in this Movie. As I prefered watching him as Herkules Movies and TV Shows. Besides this Movie has some cheesy scenes. Reminded me of those old low Budget Movies. Sorbos Acting was not really gud. But Tia Carerre pulled that role really good.
Cheesy. Right down to the chugging guitar riffs during the fight scenes. Still fun, all around. Kevin Sorbo's never going to get past a TV show. He just doesn't have it.

what is with Kevin Sorbo and all these big-guy, cheesy hero types he's drawn to? Hercules? - okay, fine. i'll take; Xena spawned from there.. but this? only thing was to see Tia Carrere play bad, bad witch and Karina Lombard (Marina from L WORD) play nice, nice witch.
A really fun and action packed sword-and-sorcery flick inspired by the comics of Robert E. Howard who created Conan, The Barbarian. A entertaining if somewhat campy film with a rockin' soundtrack. Starring Kevin Sorbo (Tv's Hercules) as the title barbarian-hero and the oh-so-hot Tia Carrera as the evil sorceress/she-demon out to dethrone Kull. This is truly one of my favorite fantasy/barbarian films to be released in years.
Robert E. Howard adaptions have not rated too highly on the big screen with me over the last twenty five years. This is the exception. Fun campy action flick that breathes life into Howard's pulp hero.
This movie is very hard for me to rate. If you are in the mood for some major cheese...then it's perfect! If you are looking for cinematic excellence...then this one should definitely have gotten a Golden Raspberry.
