Nice effects when Oedekerk inserts himself into old film footage! Some funny scenes, but most of the lower budget original kung fu movies are humorous enough by themselves.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist is a film you either get, or don't. It's incredibly stupid and simple, but it works. To view the trailer is to watch the worst parts of the movie, parts that should have been cut out. The kung-fu cow and the woman with one breast are really out of place a...( read more)nd distract from Oedekerk's surreal genius of simply overdubbing an existing film. Technologically it's also impressive, inserting Oedekerk into an existing film seamlessly. Kung Pow also has some great characters which are all voiced by Oedekerk. Whether it's squeaky shoes or the ventriloquists, there's plenty here to love. Let's not forget the quoteability "THAT'S A LOT OF NUTS".

I feel so guilty rating this with 3 stars, but Im gonna be honest its so freakin daft that youll just have to laugh! Its mindless, but its not like one of those forced comedy movies that gives you a migrane or a headache.

You know I almost hate to say this, because I'm as pretentious as they come when it comes to movies...BUT I remember watching this movie 5-6 years ago and just finding this movie absolutely hilarious. Maybe it was because I was 15-16 back then, but I still knew what this movie w...( read more)as and I wasn't expecting anything other than a stupid and retarded movie that's not even supposed to be taken seriously. And this coming from a guy, who in the last couple of years, has realized that the Oedekerk bros are actually really talentless people. I recently saw this movie on Spike tv (I think) for the first time since the last time I saw it all those years ago and i STILL laughed. It's a very amusing movie, amusing in the sense that you know that the movie is really horrible, yet that's what really makes the film enjoyable. Sort of how Clerks was charming because it was so low budget that it was still superior to Clerks 2 even though Clerks 2 had a bigger budget and a better story, a film does not have to be Academy Award-type quality to be enjoyable. Sometimes it's fun to just be immature and that's what this film does. And it's funny how 'professional' critics and the audience differ from each other, at least according to flixster. More than 2/3rds of the people that rated this movie enjoyed it, where as 12% of the pro critics enjoyed it. And I think this is the case where the audience is right, this movie is enjoyable despite the fact that if you really think about it, this movie is really horrid. But when it comes to movies like Transformes 2, which I'm sure a ton of flixster users enjoyed whereas the critics just panned it. In that case the critics are right, Transformers 2 is just an abomination upon the eyes of god. Just a terrible piece of filmmaking and everyone who worked on it should be ashamed. Sure it made like a gazillion dollars, but that doesn't justify its existence. I've rambled long enough. Like I said, nobody should really expect an arthouse masterpiece. It's just a movie that's so bad it's good, to use a worn out cliche.

In a place of mysterious ancient secrets, the greatest hero the world has known is about to kick his first butt...IT'S A 1970s HONG KONG FILM SPOOF! Kung Pow! Enter The Fist, with its badly dubbed dialogue, imagery edits, and comedic quality remade over an old kung-fu film...( read more), reminds me a lot of the old 1970s Jackie Chan films and even made its seriousness better. Watching this really made me laugh off! :-D When a highly-skilled martial artist known as "The Chosen One" sets out to avenge his family's death, he faces his greatest challenges yet: a cow with a deadly udder and a warlord who insists everyone call him "Betty". Written, directed, and starring the great acting performance of Steve Oedekerk, who inserts himself into the old chop-socky film footage.
