Avantika, a psychology professor in New York, decides to make her way back to India to be with her ailing father. She temporarily finds work at the prestigious Delhi University and meets Ehsaan Khan a...( read more  read more... ) substitute teacher at the same university. Despite reservations about Ehsaan being a Muslim, her father agrees to bless their wedding. Avantika and Ehsaan are married and leave to start a new life in New York. As soon as they settle in, Avantika manages to find a job for Ehsaan at a local university. They set out to look for a home for themselves. Finally through an advertisement of an Indian neighbourhood, Avantika manages to find a house Ehsaan actually likes. Their neighbors are conservative Muslims and their lifestyles are a revelation to Avantika. At dinner, she is taken away from Ehsaan into another quarter where all the women dine separately. They all seem to blindly accept and obey the code of conduct set by Nasreen, who along with her husband Bhaijaan are almost the de facto head of the neighborhood. All of them look up to her. All accept another young woman, Salma. Salma visits Avantika the next day and asks her not to trust anyone. What follows are a series of bizarre events that turn Avantika's life upside down and drive her into a morass of emotions that spin madly out of control taking her to a point of no return.

    Mostly I never watch Indian movies,cause of the ridiculous dance part they put in their movies. But I guess they are slowly changing and start making good movies now a days and KURBAAN is one good example. It started as a romantic love story and then turn into terrorist activity ...( read more)movie.Saif Ali Khan portrayed a terrorist, an individual who is torn between religion and the woman he loved. Kareena Kapoor showed she is talented and also a beautiful actress, her role was based on expressions and she fits in it perfectly.The movie was more then 2 and a half hours long but it did not feel as long because each minute was perfectly used,I think this movie is a must watch, cause not always you get to see such a good movie from Bollywood.

    Nothing new in the story....nor in the presentation. Well Kareena and Saif are very popular as a couple in the Industry. so they though ....it will been interesting to show them together. The movie lack consistency in the story.....for that they filled a romantic scene of the cou...( read more)ple ...!! well many controversies where pop out, to get people attention. But nothing works for the movies. And people are not gonna kurbaan his there valuable money for this money .
