Despite mocking on Cristianity (most notorious on the very final scene), this is one of the most bizarre films I have ever seen. Surrealism at its best. With some sexual content, and making parody of the high-classes, this movie was one of the most scandalous movies of the time, being banned for more than 40 years! A must see.

the movie is a surreal poem, about the impossible true love. Follow the ideas from Un Chien Andalou, but now the movie became a surreal manifest. The high level of the close-ups and zooming-outs represent the future Bunuel, with his Mexican period explosion.

One of the most complicated, yet simple films in the history of cinema. The surrealism in this early Bunuel masterpiece is fantastically combined with a comic tone which serves as a direct and one of the earliest burgueois critics ever put into the cinematography. No wonder why it was banned for over 50 years. One of the best (surrealistic) films ever made.

It is like 'Andalou' with a little bit more of a recognizable narrative. A couple are in love... their lives span thousands of years... they are killers... and the woman likes sucking on the toes of statues? Yes, something like that.

    L'age D'or percebe isso.

This is a surrealist film that runs for far too long. Anyone who saw Un Chien Andalou and liked what they saw should take a look at this film.

An artist of any ilk owes it to themselves to see this film, if for no other reason than to say that they have, indeed, seen it.

Oh mon Dieu.

Waste of TIME!! Very Weak movie, DO NOT WATCH, if you do end up watching it, side effects may include: Suicide, murder ramapages, road ramapage, any kinds of ways of harming yourself, and many others...

Love this film. Totally irreverent, particularly given when it was made. Bunuel was one of the most individual and influential directors in film history, yet sadly remains largely unknown outside cinematic circles. Maybe even now much of his stuff is too "difficult" for many. Btw, Gaston Modot was also in Regle de Jeu, yes.

Like walking into Bunuel and Dalis' brains and going through the doors they have wide open- plenty of unforgettable moments.

How i love thee! Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the main dude the groundskeeper in Renoir's La Regle de jeu?

Funny, absurd, shameless and irreverent. Just the way I like it. Bunuel definitely influenced Fellini and Lynch.
