I was completely blown away by this storyline. The plot travels along steadily at first and is very 2-dimensional, but soon enough, come clever flashbacks, sub-plots and intertwining relationships, which all managed to link together and yet still keeps you surprised throughout. ...( read more)

Vincent Cassell is as always impressive and monica Bellusi (something I rarely comment on!) was absolutely stunning.

    Enjoyably confusing and quite brilliant.

A brilliant French film that dazzles by its complexity. Given the intrinsic similarities between certain characters, it can be hard to keep up, especially in French, but it's not too difficult. It's complicated enough to really engage the audience but not difficult enough to get ...( read more)you too lost. Brilliant acting, Cassel should be far more admired then he is.

Finally I got the chance to see the movie that Wicker Park is a remake of. It tells one of the best love stories ever and I was very impressed by Wicker Park. The script to L' Appartement is amazing, and Gilles Mimouni should ofcourse have all the credits for this, but Wicker Par...( read more)k is better executed. At least I think so, it's hard to know what the effects are when you watch two almost identical films. Maybe I would have liked L' Appartement better if I had seen it first. Needless to say, I know, but Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci pulls these rolls off flawlessly. For me, this is a fantastic movie, that has an even better remake.

Vincent Cassel has been in quite a few good films hasn't he? Well 'The Apartment' is no exception. It is literally a beautiful film with it's stylish transitions, wonderful editing and beautiful cinematography. This 4 person love story is more of a detective's game in many way...( read more)s. There really should be some kind of law against this type of perfection from a first-timer. There are scenes in this outstanding film that go beyond fine writing, fine acting, fine direction. An absolute gem.
