Has strong performances, but the story takes too long to get off the ground. And once it does, it is told in a way that occasionally drags and goes off in meandering directions.

Selalu menarik untuk melihat film yang menoreh kejiwaan dan psikologi dari karakter utamanya.
Film ini, berbalut dengan judul Inggrisnya-"Don't Tell" adalah berdasarkan novel - La bestia nel cuore - karya sang sutradara; Cristina Comencini yang ternyata berdasarkan artikel koran yang menuturkan kisah hidup yang menyakitkan dari masa kecil sepasang siblings di Italia.
Film yang menuturkan kisah hidup seorang wanita muda, Sabina yang mengalami mimpi buruk mengenai pemerkosaan. Mimpi itu dimulai sesaat sesudah Sabina harus mengurus pemakaman kedua orang tuanya. Adegan mimpi itu sungguh diadaptasi ke layar lebar dengan menyakitkan and graphically beautiful. Karena dihantui mimpi tersebut, Sabina pun berusaha mentelusuri kisah hidup masa kecilnya yang mungkin ia sembunyikan atau secara tidak sadar dilupakan.
Plot film ini dipenuhi dengan subplot-subplot yang lain seputar karakter sekeliling Sabina. Mulai dari teman kerja Sabina, teman masa kecil Sabina, pasangan hidup Sabina dan kakak serta keluarganya. Agak tricky karena kalau kehilangan mood ditengah film bisa dengan pasti menganggap film ini mulai membosankan. Tetapi berkat permainan akting para pemain supporting, sehingga membuat ensemble yang menarik.
Film ini meraih beberapa penghargaan, diantaranya dari Festival Film Venice, salah satu Festival Film di Eropa selain Cannes yang patut diperhitungkan. Film ini juga meraih nominasi Oscar untuk Best Foreign Language tahun 2006.
Patut disimak jika anda termasuk orang yang mau menghabiskan waktu 2 jam untuk menjadi kritis terhadap sexual abuse, in particular child sexual abuse.

MCT:October 2, 2006it's not the first time they use this story ina movie but i think it's very nice this way. English name of the movie is Dont Tell but the original name is "The beast in my heart" i dunno why they choose that name. G.Mezzogiorno was awesum. And the directing was also very nice, it never gets boring while telling a hard story like that, which is not usual. I love this movie.
