Good work from a cool visual stylish, Luc Besson.. Anne Parillaud was charming, deep and interesting!! The story was well written and clever.. eventhrough the content just wasn't my taste.
The Cinematography and lighting were great.. I like the way this movie was edited.. and how the camera moment worked with audience.. The scene in the bathroom where Nikita dued with her sniper mission was impacted and cool. The Beginning scene stucked me still on my meal.. it's really cool for a beginning shot and the score was perfect! The rhythm of the score was good and suit with Editing & Cinematography!!
"Well directed, a Good movie experience!"
PS. Jean Reno as Victor the Cleaner was so cool.. wouldn't surprise why he was choosed to playe Leon ;)

La Femme Nikita, best watched in subtitles has a storyline that is interesting as well as good performances. The characters are interesting enough so you don't come bored with them, however the pace of the film is a little slow in places which didn't seem to really suit it. Directed by Luc Besson, this is a one-watcher.
I remember watching this for the first time and having my breath taken away - thinking to myself, 'finally something different than the shit that has been wasting my money in the past few years.' ... So what does Hollywood so with it? Admire it? Praise it? Advertise it to the public? No... it remakes it into an insult. Bastards.
Classic french cinema with a pulp twist. Beautiful girl, young and stupid, then repentful, but forever tormented. I wanted to SAVE her from herself, but don't. See the movie, then ask me what happened when I put out a PERSONAL based on this movie...
One of the first foreign action films I was introduced to as a teenager. I had actually seen the American re-make, Point of No Return first. While there are many similarities (Luc Besson directed both), the original stands alone.
Don't you dare watch it dubbed into English. Reading a few lines of dialogue will not be the end of you.
Bob: You could say I work...for the government. We've decided to give you another chance. Nikita: What do I do? Bob: Learn. Learn to read, walk, talk, smile, and even fight. Learn to do everything. Nikita: What for? Bob: To serve your country. Nikita: What if I don't want to? Bob: Row 8, Plot 30.
French action director Luc Besson directs this film which can be split in two mini films.
The first half surrounds the story of a female street punk, Nikita, who kills a cop only to be sentenced to death. Instead she is taken by the government and put into a training facility where she is to become an assassin. Despite this, she is really groomed to be a woman. She spends three years going from a child to an adult.
The second half of the movie deals with how she has to live a double life as a real woman and a trained assassin, and the emotion that comes with all the death that surrounds her.
In the first half of the movie, Nikita develops a relationship with her mentor Bob. The second half, Nikita becomes involved and engaged to a man she meets. This triangle plays out well in the film, representing both Nikita's emotion and the different sides in her life.
Being a Besson film, it is beautiful to watch. Especially for being a low budget film, the movie has a clear style that reflects all of Besson's film, mixing the drama with humor and action.
Being a film about assassin's there is action, and when it is done, its done well enough, but the focus here is on characters, and they are very well handled. This is especially apparent with Nikita, played by Anne Parillaud, who portrays a sort of ugly-duckling Sabrina type.
It would also be hard not to mention Jean Reno, whose character goes on to inspire Besson's next film, Leon - The Professional. He is only in the film for a little bit, but he leaves an impression.
it was a good movie and the only note that we should pay attention is not woman in this movie .in other view it is a movie that we should think about it more .
A good hit-woman film. The director must really like women, because he also puts them in the first plan in other movies, such as The 5th element and Leon and Joan of Arc. Great acting by Anne Parilaud.
Can remember too much about this film.. but I can remember that I've seen it a couple of times.. or at least a lot of part from the movie on the television.. =)
Influential French action film...copied many times, including the American Point of No Return (good remake)...I have yet to see a Luc Besson film I didn't like.
