I didn't like this film because of the tedium-filled dramatics about a shy narcissistic dude obsessed with his mustache; I liked it because of its universal message of strain conveyed by the protagonist. The mindbender sets up for something too surrealistic than what the film initially aims for, but it still allows for some interconnectedness. Yes, this film really got to me, expressing some struggles that I'm sure everyone goes through at some point. It's existentialistic, nihilistic, and realistic at the same time. ...huh?

There is no definitive answer but that's one of it's strengths. Very intriguing and open to interpretations.

Excellent. This movie was funny, intriguing and a piece of art. All the emotions that can be transmitted just by a movement, a look in the eye, a gesture. This interesting story will remind you of Kafka, Sartre, Camus and other existentialists. If you enjoy foreign and experimental films, this one is a most to see. It will give you the feeling of been as confused as any of the characters is feeling.

I HEART MOVIES LIKE THIS, those one's like you think you know what the film is trying to tell you, but you are not quite sure what it is exactly...La Moustache is a portray of middle age men, loss of identity, old couples...etc. The story is so original, imaginative and engaging, I don't know how Emmanuel Carrere did it(who wrote and directed the film.) Philip Glass's music score was perfect for this film. The ending was confusing and mysterious. And Vicent Lindon and Emmanuelle Devo's performances were fantastic as always.

Weird, surrealistic and yet really enjoyable. One has to like drama and somewhat mind-numbling movies to enjoy it, but it was really good.

On first impression you think this film is going to be a delightful comedy. Think again. Some parts are funny but it really goes from bad to worse when this guy shaves off his "moustache" and no one notices.

A flick u need to view twice. They incorrectly marketed it as a thriller, but its an existential film full of quiet insight if u only look close enuff. A touch MEMENTO, LOST HIGHWAY & LES DIABOLIQUES. AND I still dont trust the wife lol.

Nice little French film. The ending says a lot about life, especially when we've lost our identity; to ourselves, and to those around us.

A MUST SEE!

An extremely effective "Is the world crazy or am I?" film. Excellent acting, compelling story. Not a movie for special effects junkies or people who can't bear a few minutes of no dialog. The first half made me go "Wow," and then I wondered if I had made a mistake, until the end made me go "wow" again.

This movie was blurbed in the paper like a sitcom: a man shaves off his moustache and is disturbed to find that his wife, friends, and colleagues don't seem to notice. It sounds like a pleasant, throwaway French farce, and even seems so at first. But there is so much more afoot here, and I hesitate to give away one iota more. Simultaneously more serious and more playful than one is led to expect.

Pretty boring film, the idea is definitely unique in that the guy goes insane because he's seen himself one way while others have seen him another way for all of his life. So it's something different in a sense. But the execution of this film is horrible. The acting is solid most definitely but at the end of the movie you're left with a billion more questions than answers. It also doesn't help that the movie is boring most of the time. And like I said nothing in the movie is explained they just let you make your own conclusion and that's good in movies that actually give you something that might help you make a valid conclusion. In this movie nothing is given to you that might explain what happened and how it happened. Overall a huge disappointment in my eyes.

Hmmm i seem to be the first one on Flisxter to see this movie ?
Well i liked the idea in this movie that the guy shaves his moustache and no one notices anything. Really the only thing that was wrong in the movie was that it wasn't agressive enough. I't doesn't really try that much to show what goes through the mind of the main charachter.

Really this movie i much better if you have read the book first since the movie doesn't give all the info right to you. And i think the book is much better than the movie so ill give this an extra start for that :D
