Eerie and atmospheric, dream-like horror film is still quite an effective shocker all these years later. The performances and direction are especially good, with striking murders, a nice shower scene and one killer of an ending. This one certainly seems like it was quite influential to other horror filmmakers. Argento was obviously inspired by this one when he made Suspiria (at least in terms of setting and certain murder set-pieces) but this film's director, Narciso Ibanez Serrador, was obviously inspired by Bava's work in the 60s. The film is not a Bava clone, thankfully, and stands on its own quite well. All in all, a moody, creepy horror film. Check it out.

One of my favorite movies ever made, The House that Screamed is one of the best ghotic horrors of the 60s. The visual style is great, a clear influence on Argento's Suspiria. The acting is excellent, with Lili Palmer and the beautiful Cristina Galbó shines in her first horror role.
VERY recommended for Euro horror fans!

The House That Screamed is one of my favorite horror films ever. Its influence can be seen in countless films, most notable is Argento's Suspiria. Not only has it been the template for other films but it draws inspiration from classics like Psycho and Frankenstein. Directed by Narciso Ibanez Serrador, who also directed the disturbing Who Can Kill A Child.
