Thousands of innocent people were tortured and killed there during the Cambodian war in the 1970s. Now the museum is abandoned, and no one dares to step inside. The single winner of the show will be rewarded for 5 million Baht ($US 130,000), the highest amount ever offered on a Thai game show. Inspired by the big reward, they accept to risk their lives in the museum, confronting traps set by the show's producers, as well as those of the real ghosts whose spirits haunt the place.

A Thai take on big brother, with eleven contestants taking up the challenge of living together in an abandoned prison camp where 10,000 people met an untimely and grisly end. The houseguests are encouraged by a production team voracious for ratings t...(read more) o variously blaspheme, taunt and summon any passing malevolent spirit that might be interested in their inept behaviour. Once the movie gets in to its stride, it pretty much runs on rails, all those you expect to be bumped off, meet their makers in the order you expect. Unlike the low budget Britflick Outpost, whose camera lovingly fondles each decayed texture and gives nicely framed empty spaces around the characters for boogeymen to pop into, this movie throws away its most precious asset, that is, atmosphere. Instead of any number of elegant cinematic tricks to unnerve the watcher, the movie relies heavily on repeated soundtrack crashes to shock. This is of course, ultimately a zero sum game, as the initial jumpiness of this approach gives way to irritation. When the action really kicks in, the director has no place left to go. I seem to be using the phrase lost opportunity a lot nowadays and I guess, its all down to the conservative nature of cinema, why innovate and risk a loss when you can make a predictable if modest return by rehashing tired old cliches

the one star is given solely to the impressive and convincing poster design, which succeeds in making me believe it would be a really thrilling horror.
