Originally joining the National Guard as a means of paying for film school, Zerechak armed himself with a camera when, in 2004, his unit was activated and prepared for deployment in Iraq. Over the course of the next year, Zerechak shot over fifty hours of footage that highlighted the absurdity of fighting a mission that was doomed to failure from the moment his orders were issued. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
