Intresting movie, some fine locations used and a so so story to boot. The movie is let down by the lack of any really good action set pieces as its trying to be a sort of james bond wanna be. But part from that its a decent watch with some decent acting.

It deserves to be seen if anything because it takes place in one of the most merciless, tense and suspenseful milieus on Earth: the tightly closed board rooms of the giant multinational holdings. This quality comes from the comics the film is based on and was respected. A few oth...( read more)er aspects of the film are pleasant: the setting in Hong Kong is unexpected and enjoyable, the lead actor is quite good, and the main actresses are gorgeous.
On the other hand, the director is to camera work what cholera is to a slum mongers: her worst nightmare. The light director is doing a god job which saves the film from sheer ugliness but not one shot is well done and the editing is dreadful. Not every one is Ridley Scott.
Then comes the swinging problem, the storyline is jumping back and forth in time over a period of 30 years while at the same time traveling incessantly between Brazil, China and Croatia. Last but not least, product placement is rampant and truly poorly done.

I was expecting something like Max Payne so I was very disappointed because this movie is so simple. And I didn't like the actors too.

    Very good in a way!
And also disappointing in several others.

This is the adaptation of 1 of my fav comics series ever, so, I expected a lot.

It's a good action and psychologic movie.
Full of surprises, reversals of situation, treasons, so, it's really hard to understand who's ...( read more)the worst, who works for and against who...
There's a very unexpected surprise about this, so, itve been well written.

But I'm disappointed also, cause they didn't respect a lot the comic, and so, us, the fans, creating new characters, and not using any of the well known great ones of the comic, apart the hero and his dad.
They didn't even put the best friend of the hero in the movie, and it's a shame.

Another shame is the cast, full of average actors (for the known ones), but that's my opinion.
Anyways, they could've chose an actor looking at least at 10% like the hero, and so, not at all the 1 they chose, Shame on those fucking cast people for this.
    Really!

Anyways, that stays a good action and psycho movie, but as there are so many, and it's totally unfaithfull to the masterpiece created by Jean Van Hamme; or almost. So, it should wear this title.
But I'm impatient to see the planned sequel (maybe S, considering it seems to work very well, as milions people read at least 1 of the 16-7 books).
