A lot of this film's credit is owed to the wonderful, wonderful book. And one rarely sees so many great actors in one film - simply natural and effortless. Although Mirren and Hopkins' spelling out everything could've been replaced with more character development (eg Lenny), mos...( read more)

Extremely uneven film that benefits greatly from strong performances by its talented cast. Even so, this plods along at a snail's pace with jarring flashbacks that take you out of the story. If I didn't like looking at Ray Winstone so much, I might rate this lower...

I'd give 3.75 to this movie. Because of the ensemble performance. Caine, Hoskins and Mirren were awesome, and the other actors were all great too. The ending of Last Orders is touching.
