Watchable,if not predictable, film about an average man's twisted trip for revenge after the justice system fails him. The film gets stranger as it goes along and Gerard Butler just ends up becoming more twisted until the movie's final moments. I like Butler and Foxx, so I may ha...( read more)ve enjoyed this film more than I should have. This movie reminds me a lot of Fracture and Bruce McGill is in it so that alone earns it some extra points.

Law Abiding Citizen tells the story of an everyday guy decides to take justice into his own hands after a plea bargain sets his family's killers free. His target: The district attorney who orchestrated the deal. It is very interesting but also I think its a little unrealistic. Fu...( read more)ll of action and adventure, Law Abiding Citizen is a well developed thriller with a fast paced rhythm that will keep you on the edge of your seat for almost two hours and with a completely unexpected ending. The cast is conformed by Gerard Butler as Clyde Shelton his performance is very good, you can really feel his desperation on the first part of the movie and his cynicism in the second part. Jamie Fox is also very convincing as attorney Nick Rice and the supporting roles of Bruce McGill (Jonas Cantrell), Colm Meaney Detective Dunnigan) and Leslie Bibb (Sarah Lowell) are f very good help in the development of the movie. In conclusion, Law Abiding Citizen is a movie worthy of a chance to watch.

what a pleasant surprise. this film is being widely panned by critics, but i couldnt help but be enthralled with this film from start to finish. the tension and intensity were developed very well through the whole film as i waited patiently for the reveal of how butlers charact...( read more)er was pulling off what seemed to be impossible, and while some may not like the big reveal at the end, i thought the film was laid out very well. the film presents some very interesting ethical questions that is only hightened by the fact that there was no true villian and no true hero due to the fact that every character was developed in such a way that they were equally likeable while being equally selfish. butler was great in one of the surprise films of the year.

An unforgettably powerful and adrenaline-fulled edge of your seat thriller. A bone-chilling revenge classic. A fearless and very intelligent cat and mouse thriller that's solidly character driven, taunt, riveting and loaded with pulse-pounding suspense and explosive action. It takes the revenge film to new heights and shows us something new, dark and tremendously exhilarating movie that you wont forget. A smart, compelling, nail-biting and heart-pounding thrill-machine. Director, F. Gary Grey crafts a superb and thrilling masterwork that takes his style to new places. Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler have never been better. Foxx is excellent in every scene he's in. Butler is incredible, he gives a memorable, tortured, brilliant and electrifying performance. Butler and Foxx are a tour de force. Top-notch acting, clever writing and well-constructed by its filmmaker. An amazing, shattering, razor-sharp and breathtaking film that's an assault on the senses. It's nerve-frying, cripplingly tense and flat-out brilliant.

I really enjoyed this film and although half way through the film i thought i had it figured out, it turns out not to be so predictable!! Gerard and Jamie deliver some powerful performances. Was he right in doing it the way he did?? Thats up to personal opinion but a great movie. However, the only thing i've got a problem with is the ending. I thought the ending could of been better.

Everyone will more or less tell you the same thing about this movie. Amazing right up until the end.
Why? Because you don't create this amazing character that everyone loves throughout the whole film, and then end it in the simplest way you can think of.

    Especially for Gerald Butler.

Jonas Cantrell: The hard part isn't making the decision. It's living with it.

Nick Rice: You think your wife and daughter would feel good about you killing in their name?
Clyde Shelton: My wife and daughter can't feel anything. They're dead.
