thankfully the theatre seat was comfortable and provided restful support to a pedestrian script. this and 7 years in tibet are probably among the only 5 movies i've ever been able to sleep through. well done guys.

Not bad, a little overhyped I think. Or maybe this was one of its type during the early 90s, I donno..

About the desire to be needed...
And the need to be desired...

This movie reminds us that families can be the worst thing in the world, as well as the best thing.

    Trivia:
Johnny Depp was offered, and turned down, the role of Tristan Ludlow.

    Quote:
    Samuel: Still hung over?
    Tristan: Still drunk!

I loved this movie. I have seen it a dozen or more times and actually named my son after one of the characters.

I actually got my son's name from this movie.

Another romantic movie with sex scenes that really make you..hm...sweat. The lusty element was really desirable and the characters here played immensely well. Brad is eye-candy.

Legends of the Hair... I couldn't tell who took themselves more seriously... the actors or the author who wrote this thing (Harrison). Either way it missed. I think they were too busy admiring their own natural good looks to get into their story.

Although not perfect, Legends of the Fall is a pleasing mix of melodrama, action, and humor. Many of the lines and scenes have become cliche, but a few still stand out as stunning and unforgettable. Who can forget the scene in which Brad Pitt rides into the military camp after killing and scalping German troops on his own, his hair down, covered in blood and dirt, while his fellow infantrymen just look on in shock.

Although I'm not sure if it is the kind of movie I would watch again and again, it is difficult to dislike a movie that reaches so far to please its audience. Edward Zwick has proven himself a director who can straddle the line between box office hit and artistic vision. For a more impressive example of this, see Blood Diamond.

This is probably the film i've seen more times. It's one of the few that doesn't stop to move me every time I see it. The story is absolutely haunting, beautiful, epic...Every line in the movie is memorable. The cast is one of the best ever put together on a film. Gordon Tootoosis (One Stab, the story narrator), Anthony Hopkins (Coronel Ludlow), Aidan Quinn (Alfred), Brad Pitt (Tristan- what a mitical name suited for such a mitical character), Julia Ormond (Susannah), Henry Thomas (Samuel)...They all stand out for the depth in their performance. And James Horner's (Braveheart) music is, as always, profound and moving. At the end you are amazed by how life can be meaningful and also tormented to find meaning in your own existence. "I followed all of the rules, man's and God's. And you, you followed none of them. And they all loved you more. Samuel, Father, and my... even my own wife."

One of the most emotional rollercoaster movies I have ever seen. One moment is happy and uplifitng, and moments later it turns sad and tragic. One of the best romantic dramas I have ever seen.

Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt and Julia Ormond are great. Great cinematography with beautiful settings.

A totally emotional film that grips your heart and has you gripping all the way through. Very hard and very loving, is very moving. A box-office hit when released in 1994, this sprawling, frequently overwrought familial melodrama may get sillier as its plot progresses, but it's the kind of lusty,character-based epic that Hollywood should attempt more often.

I hated this movie. I was completely annoyed throughout the entire thing. It was like the director and writer said, "Let's see how many times in one movie we can make all the women cry. It'll be fun." Well, I didn't cry because it was stupid.

This movie is a serious well told story of a family in the period of WW1 and the love triangle between the sons and a woman. It is a very dramatic and interesting movie with a well known cast which includes Brad Pitt; Aiden Quinn and Anthony Hopkins. It is a beautifully told epic story of the heart.

What my parents called: 'A lovely movie with a happy ending'. Unfortunately they forgot that EVERYBODY get's killed by each other / a bear / drug dealers / soldiers / themselves (seriously, what kind of movie ends with a man getting eaten by a bear, and the lines: 'he had a great life'?). Extremely depressing, despite the great landscapes.

I have seen this movie it was ok but the funny thing is that Brad Pitts character's name is Tristan and when I had my child in 2001 all my friends and family thought I named my son after him and I did not!!

Here we have a very american, epic, melodramatic story of love, war, nature, indipendence and all that and I still cried. I did. I don't do that very often but I did when I watched this one. I can't stand to see the war. Just can't stand it. That's gonna haunt me for weeks. Apart from that I probably won't remeber it that long, but while I was watching I cared. I really did.

My favourite tragic romance film, I particularly enjoy the native Indian influence in this film. I can't say any more without giveing the plot away to those who haven't seen this film, but it's a great journey of three brothers, who are each unique.
