Natalie Portman is amazing in this. She was 9 at the time and she did a brilliant job. And of course Jean Reno is a total legend.

Gary Oldman is the ULTIMATE crazy guy. Makes Dennis Hopper look like someone that prozac could help.

Lovable. Gary Oldman's best performance, like, ever. The other main two are good too. Nathalie Portman's only 12 in it!! Bless.

An absolute classic. Gary Oldman is particularly excellent in this film. My only problem with this film is that I loved the characters so much that I was begging for the story to be left open ended in case anybody would have liked to do a sequel in the future. But there's not much chance of that happening now.

Gary Oldman steals the show with one of the most outlandishly charismatic performances ever as the evil cop antagonist.

This is a very good film all the acting was really good and the best performance for me goes to portman who is excellent as Matilda which was her first role. The storyline was amazing. A great film and to me will always be a classic. This is definately worth watching and you should see it if you haven't.

a near perfect movie, if only they bring out more the complexity of the relationship between jean reno and little natalie portman, could bring the movie to a different level

As an adult this is my all time favorite movie. Jean Reno is now one of my favorite actors and he can do no wrong. Even if the movie he's in is horrible, he'll still be amazing. Natalie Portman should have been given an Oscar for this movie.

I was quite impressed with the acting as well as the "dirty" look of this movie. It had a great feel to it when I watched it. Decent story as well.

If you've ever played the Hitman video games, watch this. It's a pretty gd film about an assassin and a little girl (no, not like that, well almost), but i kinda wish there were more scenes with hits in like at at the beginning

One of my favourite action-thrillers of all time, 'Leon' takes the character of the hitman in an unexpected direction, creating one of the most stunning and moving stories of its genre. And if that doesn't do it for you - there's still plenty of tough characters (Gary Oldman is both hilarious and frightening) and action. Oh and it contains a young Natalie Portman whose debut performance is as compelling as the work she has done more recently.

In my mind, the best film made by Luc Besson. Great characters and played out very well and does not step into the cheese mine it so easily could have. Long rumoured sequal hasn't shown up which is probably a good thing given Natalie Portman's performance in Star Wars.... It'd be nice to *watch* though...

We love you Natalie! I wanna FUCK YOU TOO! After watching this movie, I temporarily wanted to be a sniper. A sniper with a cool sidekick like Natalie.

Stansfield is the best movie villain of all time. He's creepy, he's crazy,he's sexy and you love him. I also loved the bond between Leon and Matilda. Very cute.

Everything about this movie was good. Natalie Portman coming onto Jean Reno was pretty brilliant, and would never fly without a French director. Typical American action film with just enough depth to make it great.

really really tremendously gripping, Jean Reno is awesoem in his understatedness.... and Gary Oldman is absolutely crazy. Natalie Portman is STUNNING as a 12 yeah old... and it's an all round intriguing movie. Love it to bits, and I really wanna see the uncut version.

I saw a preview for it quite a while ago and it looked corny like my pooh, but I'll have to take Flixster's opinion for once, and take a look.
