With unabashed humor and joy, the two seek fortune and romance, ignoring the growing anti-Semitism and Fascist government that surrounds them. Guido falls in love with Dora, a beautiful young school teacher, and a fairy tale romance ensues.

    One of the saddest, moving, masterpiece films I have ever seen. Once watched it will be locked in your memory forever holding the key, awaiting your return. Winner of my Top foreign language film.

    This is one of the most beautiful and touching films ever made. It takes true talent to combine both great comedy and terrible tragedy.     I have been meaning to see this movie for ten years now. In 2009, I finally got to see it. Although it kept my interest for the full movie, I was disappointed. Perhaps after waiting for 10 years, I was expecting a better movie.

    Roberto Benigni plays Guido to whom Life is Beaut...( read more)iful. He does everything he can to shield his son from the realism of the German concentration camp - to the point of unbelievability. Still, I'm glad I saw it finally.

    A JEWISH ITALIAN WAITER (ROBERTO BENINI) WINS THE LOVE OF GOOD WOMAN,THEY HAVE A SON AND WWII BREAKS OUT AND RUINS EVERYTHING. OSCAR FOR BEST FOREIGN FILM.

    it was a good evening when i saw this movie. while recognizing many similarities to The Great Dictator, i must admit it wasn't such a bad copy. i enjoyed more the first part. comic scenes agree with Benigni. and Guido is a great character though some disagree.
