Limon moved to New York and reportedly connected with his life's passion by witnessing Harald Kreutzberg dance on stage. Thereafter, Limon studied with the iconic instructors Charles Weidman and Doris Humphrey; Humphrey helmed him hone his technique, while Weidman schooled him in the art of pantomime. What emerged from this training period, as well as Limon's development of dance with at his own company in the years to follow, forever rewrote the rules of the young man's chosen art form.
