Childhood movies are usually the best. Although this one pretty much scarred me for most part of my growing-up. The nightmare monster... gahh. Still, the music and songs were happy stuff. And so, so very good.
Loved this movie when i was a kid. It had great story and cute characters and the villians were pretty scary back then. its a classic
I'm amazed that I had never seen this film before, but I do vaguely recall seeing the trailer on TV in 1992 when it was release nation-wide in the US. I still don't know to this day why I didn't demand to see it back then, because IMO its a fantastic film. And why not? look who have been involved with it over the long course of its production, Frank Thomas & Ollie Johnston (2 of Walt Disney's 9 old men), Ray Bradbury, Hayao Miyazaki, Osamu Dezaki, Chris Columbus, and many more. Thats an impressive crew list. Sure they didn't all stick around to see it finished because of creative difference or something like that, but their collective input really makes this film a treat. Basic story is as follows:
A young, curious, and adventurous boy, Nemo wakes one night to an invitation to visit the wondrous world of Slumberland. There he is dubbed a prince, but soon finds that his new position involves the responsibility of protecting and saving Slumberland from evils like the Nightmare King.
Based off of the turn of the century comic strip by Winsor McCay, who was a long lost animation visionary who first animated his characters in 1911! This movie made me want to go out and get the collected version of his stories (and next time I'm in Bern, I'm picking it up).
Honestly, this has to be one of the most beautifully animated films not made by Studio Ghibli or Walt Disney himself. I hope another DVD release it made soon. But until then, there are torrents for it, so.....
granted i haven't seen this movie since I was 10, but I loved it. how I would kill for a copy of this movie!
I actually saw it before, like when i was a kid. I barely remember it so now i reeeally wanna watch it again :D
This is a Japanese anime film that I used to enjoy watching during my early childhood. "Little Nemo: Adventures In Slumberland" tells the tale of Nemo, who receives an invitation- and cookies (mmmm)- to go to Slumberland and play with King Morpheus' princess daughter Camille. Nemo is crowned as a Slumberland prince, and meanwhile, a Nightmare King kidnaps Morpheus, so Nemo and his friends attempt a rescue at Nightmareland. Now this is an animated title that would never get old for years to come...."Little Nemo" is all about song and dreams!
MY ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!! Pajama, Pajama, Pajama, PAJAMA!!!!!! i love his pet flying squirrel too!(just can't spell the name!)the oompas are funny too. and flip i believe is good, he just seems to have too much fun causing trouble! ^^
What an overlooked gem! The animation is beautiful, the story is engaging and the music by the Sherman Brothers is great! It's unfortunate that more people are not familiar with this animated film, especially with so many mediocre animated films out there. Perhaps it's all in the marketing. This film brings the classic comic to life in such a charming way. Fans of Hayao Miyazaki will especially appreciate it. If you love animation, try to track this down. It might be a little difficult to find, but well worth it!
I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!! Maybe I should get it on Netflix and watch it since I haven't seen it in SOOO long. lol
I grew up with this movie; watching it over and over again. The uniqueness and creativity still stuns me today. definately one of the better movies based on a comic strip.
another movie from my childhood vault. it has quite a dark feel, which i thought was very intriguing.
Was on rotation with FernGully as Most Watched Movie of My Childhood. I recently bought the dvd, though, and upon rewatching it's really fucking creepy. I was scared of the purple goopy stuff as a kid, but the whole movie is actually very trippy. I still love it :)
One of those movies from my childhood that have stuck with me over the years - especially the "black ooze" in the film (which scared me shitless as a kid). While it's been a long time since I've seen it, it's definitely one of my favorite animated films.
I vaugely remember seeing this one as a kid... back then I didnt know who Winsor McKay was, but I still liked it... Ill have to give this one a 2nd watch
I don't remember much about this movie, but I remember liking it when I was younger. Those always bring back good memories.
I saw this movie when I was little and it gave me recurring nightmares for the next 13 years!!! NOT A GOOD CHILDRENS FILM- TOO SCARY!!!!
A cartoon with pajamas and flying on beds. So much fun and brings back memories. I watched it on youtube the other day, and it still has its charms even though it was a pretty quirky film.
???, can't say much about this movie since I haven't seen it for 12 years, so I'll give it a 8 or 9 out of 10
Luvvvvvvvv this film. Watched this as a child, rewatched it as an adult- and I love it just as much now.
this is my oldest son's fav movie when he was a little boy. sweet..we must have watched movie 100 times, over and over!!!
omg i totally forgot about this movie. it was so cool. it was one of those cartoons that was very creative and you could get lost in.
Oh My Gosh!!!!!!! The best movie of all time. I used to watch this everyday when I was younger...I wish they still made this movie... this deserves a million stars

The animation (and the storylines as well) in "Little Nemo" definitely reminds me of a lot of the Hayao Miyazaki anime films even though this was created by someone else (and that would be another animator) and not Miyazaki. But what the hey...."Little Nemo" is a great film, and I used to watch it when I was a little kid.
Oh....and don't confuse the film's title with "Finding Nemo", which is an unrelated animated film.
