Little Nicky

Adam Sandler, Patricia Arquette, Carl Weathers, Harvey Keitel, Rhys Ifans, Rodney Dangerfield, Allen Covert, Reese Witherspoon, Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Jon Lovitz, Rob Schneider

Little Nicky is the son of Satan. Satan wants to retire, but none of his sons are good enough for the job. There's Cassius, who's big and strong, but lacks the 'goodness' to make the job real. There's...( read more  read more... ) Adrian, who while really hot (no pun intended) and smart, has no goodness at all. Then there's Nicky [Sandler] who, while having good, lacks any evil whatsoever. As seen in the previews, he is told to release his evil. He needs to release it to save his dad. Cassius and Adrain leave Hell, thereby freezing the wall of fire that lets the damned souls into Hell. Since no souls can come in now, Satan starts to die. It's up to Little Nicky to go and get his brothers, putting them into a flask and bringing them back to Hell at the exact same time to save Satan from decomposition. If Nicky 'dies' on Earth, he will be able to get through the frozen wall and back up to Earth. The catch is that he has only a week, and that Adrian and Cassius are MUCH more powerful than he is.

Such a bad movie. One of the few Adam Sandler movies that I didn't like.

"He's Never Been To Earth. He's Never Even Slept Over Some Other Dude's House."

The youngest child of the family often has the most problems -- so why should things be different for the Prince of Darkness and his offspring? Satan (Harvey Keitel) is considering retirement,...( read more) and is pondering which of his sons should take over the family business -- ambitious Adrian (Rhys Ifans), strapping Cassius (Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr.), or Nicky (Adam Sandler), an accident-prone demon who prefers to stay in his room playing his favorite heavy metal tunes. When Satan decides to stay on for another 10,000 years, Adrian is outraged, and leaves Hell to go to New York, where he and Cassius attempt to round up enough souls to vote Satan out of power. Satan, understandably upset, sends Nicky to bring Adrian and Cassius back home, but Nicky finds life on Earth is more complicated than he expected. Things don't get any easier when he develops a crush on Valerie (Patricia Arquette), a good-hearted mortal woman.

This is the most asinine piece of garbage for the year 2000. It's not funny at all and after 10 minutes you want to strangle Sandler for that annoying voice he makes up for Nicky. For the amount of special effects and cameos in it, I could have made a movie about heaven and hell 20,000 times better than this bunk and for 1/3rd the price. Sandler's worst movie; even though he's never going to make a Citizen Kane, that still says a lot. As an alternative, go rent Happy Gilmore and fast forward to Bob Barker calling Sandler a "bitch."

Not bad idea, but lousy (really, really) execution.

Quite possibly the most annoying film I have ever seen. Adam Sandler sets my teeth on edge as it is but Little Nicky made me want to poke my eyes out and stick them in my ears!

Nicky, the only good-hearted son of Satan, goes on a quest to save his father from his evil brothers, Adrian and Cassius. On the way, he learns the basic differences between Earth and Hell (after dying several times), discovers what love is, and acquires a certain fondness for Po...( read more)peyes Chicken...

This is a solid comedy by Adam Sandler. This time he is the son of satan and must bring his brothers back from earth to hell or it will freeze over. The film has lots of your typical Sandler humour. Plus his usuals are cast in this. Great to see Rodney Dangerfield and Harvey Keit...( read more)el cast in this as well. The film has a solid story and does bring enough laughs for entertaining. My favorite scene has to be when Nicky is learning to use his powers and he turns coke into pepsi. Very funny. This movie is not as good as some of Sandler's other films but worth a watch if your a Sandler fan.
