John McClane (Bruce Willis) is back in this fast paced action packed rollercoaster ride. This time around John has to face to new daring enemy named Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant) who wants to shut down the United States. Now, with the help of a computer hacker (Justin Long) by John's side, together they must stop Gabriel & save the world. This time its not so easy for John. As John & the hacker are trying to stop Gabriel's plan, Gabriel takes someone that's really close to John, his daughter Lucy McClane (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), that ticks John off that much worse about Gabriel. Now, John puts his live on the line to stop Gabriel's plan by taking out the bad guys & getting back his daughter by any means necessary.

Live free or Die Hard is my favorite out of the Die Hard trilogy. It is very entertaining filled with alot of high voltage action sequences from the start & doesn't stop till the final conclusion. The action stunts were so real which made this movie even better to watch. My favorite sequence was when John McClane blew up a hellicopter with a car & he said he was out of bullets. That was the best memorable scene of the movie I think.

Bruce Willis does another outstanding job as our hero. I just love seeing him having fun in his role which makes this film that much more enjoyable to watch. Even though this one is PG-13, Bruce still kills the bad guys in brutal violent ways. Bruce still is my favorite actor today & probably will ever be.

Timothy Olyphant who is Bruce's nemisis in this one is very dark & full of anger.I thought Timothy's character Thomas Gabriel was John McClane's worst so far because of the fact that he had the guts to take his daughter & tried to kill him. From seeing Timothy's performance in this movie, he is now officially one of my favorite actors. Timothy has the right stuff to play any character he wants. Hope to see him take on more evil roles like this.

What can I say about Justin Long, BRILLANT!!! Justin's acting ceases to improve everytime i see him star in a film. Justin almost stole his film by his intelligence. It was defenitly a shocker for me to see Justin take on a role of a computer hacker who has to have smarts into knowing waht he's doing. He defenitly pulled it off. Justin is going to very big star soon. Can't wait to see him in more movies. Most talented young actor yet.

The young a sexy Mary Elizabeth Winstead who played the daughter, Lucy. All I can say is she's on her way to a great career. Mary has a big future in the future. She also looks like she could pass for a model as one of the sexiest young actresses. Mary played her role very well & made & impact on this trilogy by portraying Bruce Willis's daughter.

Maggie Q who was Olyphant's hot asian operator/assassin made her character believable enough. Maggie is the first asian actress that can actually act. I just loved watching her kick John's butt & listening to her sexy accent. Maggie should pass for a model too. Hope to see her in more films such as action like this one. Maggie is one my favorite actresses that has come so far as a good actress. Hope she keeps up the good work showing her acting & looks off in films in the furture.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, go out & grab yourself a copy on dvd because its a must own. They have an Unrated & Theactrical Version. The Unrated one is the best because it has alot of scenes that wern't shown in the original. Trust me this movie is worth buying & adding to your DVD collection. It's the best Die Hard yet.

    John McClane: "Yippi-kay-ay, motherfu - "

John McClane: I'm going to go kill this guy & get my daughter or go get my daughter & kill this guy, kill all of them.

John McClane: Mai? Oh, yeah. Little Asian chick, likes to kick people? I don't think she's gonna be talkin' to anybody for a really long time. Last time I saw her she was at the bottom of a elevator shaft with an SUV rammed up her ass.

John McClane: Yeah, you had to dispatch all units for all the naked people walkin' around?

John McClane: I know I'm not as smart as you guys with all this computer shit. But, hey... I'm still alive, ain't I? I mean, you've *got* to be running out of bad guys by now, right? Huh? Gabriel? Honestly, you can tell me. I mean, how does that work? Got some kind of service or something? Some kind of 800 number? 1-800-HENCHMEN? Oh, you know what? I bet you're still on hold with, "Can I get another dead Asian hooker bitch over here right away?"

John McClane: I could come and find you, kick your ass and throw you out of your own party. What do you think about that, dickhead?

thoroughly enjoyed this movie by the time the credits started rolling! I was like the other skeptics. "PG-13??? YIPPIE KAY YAY MOTHER-FATHER?" If you go into this movie knowing it's not going to be Nakatomi Tower, or With a Vengeance, you can save yourself a lot of whining. Die H...( read more)ard 2, to the fans, was not a very good movie. THIS ONE makes up for it! There's wasn't much potty language, but realistically, I don't think anybody had any time to drop any F-bombs on account of them having to constantly dodge the real ones. At first the dynamic between McClane and the Mac Geek seems a little "ah here we go again, clash of the generations", and it doesn't seem like a real Die Hard movie until about 30 minutes into it, but once we start recognizing Shoe-less John, a lot of that goes away! The hacker stuff seems to get sort of hokey, at times, but a lot of Die Hard fans won't have trouble letting that slide since John couldn't be bothered with it; he's too busy kickin' ass and takin' names! The action scenes keep you on the edge of your seat at all times. This is definitely the next level of action flicks (best since Casino Royale). Some of the blows McClane delivers are so intense, even Chester A. Arthur felt them.

There's no rehashing of old characters to forcefully remind you it's a Die Hard flick. That means no Sgt. Al Powell, no Zeus, no Holly Gennero side story, no Inspector Cobb, hell, not even a Gruber family member! Also, there's no jurisdictional cliché argument he had with the LA cop or Airport Cop from the sequel we all like to pretend never happened.

Trust me, by the time he says "Yippie Kay Yay..." your jaw will drop! A MUST SEE for Die Hard fans!

Awesome awesome awesome movie/sequel. Looks like movie sequels are getting better, and often times surpassing the older ones more often in these recent years. It's more of the exciting suspense and edge of your seat action we've all grown accustomed to in this series. I love some...( read more) of the lines, such as when Bruce Willis pulls off an unbelievable stunt to take down a helicopter, and then his partner asks why he did that and Willis replies, "I was out of bullets." Just may be my favorite film in the series, but I'd have to rewatch the others to know for sure.

Yet another in a long line of sequels and as before this Die Hard film is no different. The term "Action packed" instantly springs to mind when one refers to Die Hard films as this is part of a genre that always works exceedingly well.

Though Willis has aged he can still pull of...( read more)f the tough action hero, though appropriately his character has been mellowed down a bit compared to before. This works well for the actor and character by keeping him grounded makes it more believeable which is needed considering Willis' age. He is joined by a multitude of "New bloods" young actors that are no doubt only added to appeal to the younger generation. This time he has a sidekick, personally I think it was unneeded as Willis can easily hold his own.

John McClane - Supercop, the man that seems impervious to small arms and automatic gun fire has yet again found himself stuck among a terrorist plot. Surely he is the most unluckiest man on the planet as this kind of thing always happens to him. This time he finds himself out of place as the terrorists use modern technology to create mayhem, luckily for John, he has a new sidekick in the form of techno-whiz Matt Farrell. Though based around internet crime, their is no end to henchmen for MCClane to kill, especially the ever entertaining "Hamsterman".

Do not expect a strong plot, this is a Die Hard film after all, so long as you only expect an action pack film, then you will not be disappointed. A decent action movie, I happily recommend it.

J'ai rarement vu un film d'action aussi intense que celui-là. Bravo au réalisateur et à toutes l'équipe pour avoir donné un nouveau souffle à cette saga qui manquait de mordant.

What made me watch this movie? I was NOT INTRESTED but since my friend and I couldn't find anythin...( read more)g else I thought "It's just a movie, what's the worst that can happen?"
After all I was wrong. Now I think I should also watch the prequels! What made me change my mind? I like action but I thought that the Die Hard movies are all about meaningless action, the kind of action that only men like (no hard feelings guys!). Actually "Live free or die hard" was really enjoyable with one awesome Bruce Willis, who was funny and very cool (and OMG I am going to say it! SEXY too lol) and some unforgetable quotes

Yes, it's not the best film, but it was one of the few really good films in theaters this summer. The plot is realisticly scary and Bruce Willis is such a charasmatic hero that you can't help but want the good guy to win like the old school films of Wayne, Eastwood, etc. Obviou...( read more)sly, the film lacks the crackle of the first one, but its 17 years later; it's okay... this was a good movie i would have to say i would rank it 2nd compared to die hard 1

It almost lived up to the other die hard films. Yet it went with the same old cliché of goverment agents being terrible shots and complete retards and the terrorist being almost superhuman. And they ruined the best parts in the trailer with the helicopter getting hit by the car.
