The "Robert Hampton" credited with the direction of the Italian Ghost is actually the ubiquitous Riccardo Freda. Also released as Lo Spettro, the film is a sequel to The Horrible Dr. Hichcock, a fact that is obvious only towards the end. Set in 1910 Scotland, the film stars the inimitable Barbara Steele as a cheating spouse and Peter Baldwin as her doctor-paramour.
