August 30, 2007This movie is definitely perfectly written. The lines are so good that I have them on my screen saver. It is dark but if you "look closer" you will see the beauty behind it. Jeremy is a boy in love who is manuipulated by a girl. The true love story is that they changed the ages of them both but made it work. The story could work if they were the same age. See how she drops him for the bad boy more interesting than the good one. Look closer. If you can look past age you see Jeremy as used and the other guy as the player who stole his girl. Look how even after she gets with someone ELSE she still calls him to give him some money. The writted f'ud up when he had Jeremy apologize at the end which was of course for the fools that saw this as a tale of incest. It was a romantic comedy with lines worthy of history. "Pale and polluted with another man's child..." He WAS NOT ATTRACTED to the other girls of young age, he feel in love with her. You notice that and it turns the whole movie around.

March 20, 2007This movie is quite crap-it is obviously based on the Heavily censored American version of the Book-If you read the book you will note that the GIRL seduces the MAN.And in the English version shes 12 not 14 like in this.Wether a 37yo sleeps with a 12yo or a 14yo its still wrong!Americans are fucked!.Jeremy Irons hated this Film so much he wants to remake it in England.Plus Dominique Swan looks about 20 not 12.
