Wonderful film noir feel and first rate acting from Penelope Cruz makes for riveting cinema.
Almodóvar's typical shit, but this time trying to be serious. Doesn't work. Most of the actors do a fucking terrible job (except maybe Lluís Homar, but his character isn't good). No need to watch it.

Dobre przezycia estetyczne. Ciekawe, czy wszyscy Hiszpanie maja takie ladne mieszkania. Czerwono-niebieskie. U Almodovara chyba wszystko jest zawsze czerwono-niebieskie. Film lekko przydlugi i pare watkow pobocznych wg mnie niepotrzebnie rozdmuchanych, ale za to ladna muzyka.
Oh sweet misery. Oh joy of joyless joy. Oh such profound disappointment. Immaculately executed but dramatically muted and actually (shock-horror!) a tad boring.

Fantastic performances and superb direction make this film a real pleasure to watch. The story itself is fairly predictable but the way it is told makes it more interesting. Not as good as 'Bad Education' but I preferred it to 'Volver'.
If u are a Almodóvar fan, and have seen quite a lot of his work- you will def. love "broken embraces". Penelope Cruz makes a fantastic appearance.
