These are the stories that plagued the filmmaker's nightmares, captured on film for the enjoyment of both the locals who remember them from their youth, and the unfamiliar in search of a good scare. In "Misery Loves," director Paul Natale ponders the gruesome hangings on Sweet Hollow Road. Director Sean King revisits the legend of the lady in the white ghost in Don't Go Looking for Mary's Grave, and after Terrance and Elizabeth Smith explore the abandoned King's Park psychiatric facility in The Institute for Mental Hygiene Pete Bune revisits the Native American story of Lake Ronkonkoma in Lady/Lake. Each short is preceded by a brief documentary exploring the origins of the legends, assembled from historical documents, photographs, and interviews with such supernatural experts as Paranormal Investigator Joe Giaquinto, Weird New York authors Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran, and {_Ghosts of Long Island: Stories of the Paranormal} author Kerriann Flanigan Brosky. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
