Louis Jordan and the Tympany Five
One of the most influential jazzmen of the 1930's and 1940's, this versatile man of many slashes (Jordan was a composer/musician/vocalist/bandleader) influenced music greats from Ray Charles to James Brown. Here many of his early "soundie" performances have been remastered, including some classic pairings with Nat King Cole, Cab Calloway, and Louis Armstrong. Funny, exuberant and above all, a talented musician, Louis Jordan is a joy to watch.
