30 Days of Night was actually one of the more brutal vampire movies. Vampires tend to get romanticized which lulls people into a security that it would actually be cool to be one. They end up forgetting that they have to subsist on blood alone.

I thought it was great because it put the vampires back in a monstrous role as the true killers they are within.
