Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"A very romantic, very loyal retelling of the classic love story"
‑ Clint Morris, Film Threat
"A tepid remake."
‑ Michael Dequina,
"Not as bad as rumored, but go for the 1957 or better yet 1939 version."
‑ Ken Hanke, Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
"Where else can you hear Kate Hepburn say the "F" word?"
‑ Michael A. Smith, Nolan's Pop Culture Review
"This is one love affair not worth remembering...tepid and unsure of its slow-witted pacing. It's any wonder that Beatty and Bening didn't hinder their real life relationship with this lovey-dovey tripe"
‑ Frank Ochieng, Movie Eye
"Too slow, both leads seem self-conscious."
‑ Bob Bloom, Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN)
"So sad this is Hepburn's last performance."
‑ Alex Sandell, Juicy Cerebellum
"Almost redeemed by its beautiful cinematography and Katharine Hepburns' cameo."
‑ Jeffrey M. Anderson, San Francisco Examiner
"Love Affair is unapologetically sappy, but its old-school humility provides a lot of its considerable charm."
‑ Jeremy Heilman, Apollo Guide
