I've decided that it's impossible to make too many comedy-dramas about awkward people in love. impossible.
It took me a while to buy into the characters and the roles they were playing. I'm still not sure if the majority of the people in this movie were just horrible actors, or if they are truly just odd people. Ludlow was the only person whose acting i didn't find grating, but in the end i did enjoy the story, though I did halfway expect christopher guest to pop up at some point..
Found this by accident. Don't know any of the cast. Didn't know the story. Something predictable - happy ending - mostly. But it's an interesting journey and worth watching. Myra never smiles at work; someone tells her it takes more muscles to frown than to smile; she replies "this is how I get my exercise".
despite an awkward beginning, this movie is sweet, emotional, and true. has some good humour too, my only real issue is that i found alicia goransan (myra) to be quite annoying.
