Simone Bradley is Saint Theresa's prized young poetry teacher who finds peace and security within the boarding school walls. Surrounded by a lush atmosphere with little conflict, Simone has settled into a life of comfort and purpose educating her young female students. Annabelle is a charismatic and enchanting new student who quickly draws attention for her rebellious behavior. Fearing Annabelle will influence the other students, the rigid headmistress, instructs Simone to keep an eye on Annabelle and get her under control. Simone, however, quickly learns that the real challenge is not Annabelle's behavior but the attraction budding between the two. As Annabelle pursues her teacher, she unleashes the passion that has been locked deep inside Simone, who must decide whether or not to enter an affair that could cost her everything.

This is the story of a young lady who was sent to a private catholic school by her mother, who's a Senator. There she feels out of place, but finds comfort with her teacher, Simone. Their intensity grows throughout the school year to where one night everything changes.

It was ...( read more)a decent love story to watch, but didn't bring much for me. I also didn't really like the ending....it ended so abruptly.

I really liked it. The chemistry between the two main characters is just fantastic. Some parts were kind of corny and the ending is semi-abrupt, but I liked that it ended the way it began. Kind of ironic really.

Acted and directed in a surprisingly subtle fashion, the whole student-teacher-story is given an original, appealing new twist. The actresses have amazing chemistry - this film was a huge hit at festivals for a good reason.

Simone: [Having asked Annabelle to stay after class because Annabelle was a bit risque in giving an answer] I think you're trying to get a rise out of me.
Annabelle: [Slightly suggestively] And why would I want to do that?
    Simone:
...( read more) Perhaps to get attention.
    Annabelle: Perhaps I'm intrigued.
    Simone: Ingrigued by what?
    Annabelle: [Boldly] By you.

Annabelle is pretty self-centered and pushy, but I liked her anyway. And Simone was sweet and vulnerable.

Possibly the best films with a lesbian relationship taking the center stage

A little corny and predictable, and takes itself way too seriously, but otherwise a touching and convincing love story.
