Soo funny and artistically correct . At the end, it is just magic, just the director who saved this poor lady. So many details that makes it perfect (the baby as the narrator, the doctor that dies asking for a berry, soda, the bull that falls from the sky, the real father that gets shocked and sleeps deeply, and so on...).
Photograph and music is very nice also.
I absolutely love this film. I think it's a brilliant example of magic realism.
Now for my complaints. First, narrating a film from the womb is just about as bad as narrating it from beyond the grave. It's just tacky. Second, it's anti-abortion, but since it's not an American film, I'm able to grudgingly put that aside.
Now that I have my two big complaints out the way, this is a film that shows you don't need a film with a consistent set of rules to be believable. The acting carries this film; practically anything could happen and the actors could make it watchable. The twists are compelling, even if occasionally thrown in for show. And the ending is brilliant. It reminds me of Kusterica's work.

Is there any better artistic movement than surrealism? Seriously, I am asking myself about it. Because in films, surrealism brings an interesting side of storytelling. I actually think that it makes me feel good when I watch something unusual, which I think movies should all be. It is good to "avoid" reality and tell stories that have no sense. The best example of that kind of storytelling is Burton's Big Fish. I mean, who would have like Big Fish if it wasn't surrealistic, if the way the story was told would have been changed... Nobody would like it. I think it's the same with Luna Papa. The story is quite simple, a women tries to find the father of her unborn child. It is banal, right? Now, add surrealistic elements in the movie, it may be the scene of the making of the baby (Wow, what a scene), or the ending was kinda surrealistic, and you get, in the end, a surrealist tragicomedy.
