After the dissapointing Duelist, where Lee's visuals outweighed the story was happy to see M is his most fantastic film yet. M is a mystery, but no murder mystery, it's a love mystery in a dreamlike world. Lee uses his artistic style perfectly, capturing those bizarre, surreal moments of the mind. There still isn't much of a story, the intrigue relies a lot on confusion, but M is very much an accessible art house film. If you are looking for the true beauty of cinematic expression, then this is the film for you. I'm currently listening to the soundtrack, which is an incredible piece of work on it's own terms.
