As I watched it the first time, I was ecstatic. As I continue to watch it now and then, I am still captivated enough. Great music, especially with "the waterskiing" scene using Nirvana's Love Buzz". Fantastic song!!
This role was made for Drew Barrymore. She's so well cast in this, she perfectly embodies her character and makes her seem scarily similar to herself in her bad girl days. The actual story isn't much to go on about.. This is a film I'd compare to the likes of 'Fear' and 'Natural Born Killers' (without all the killing - just the romance side of things) So if you liked them, even just a little bit, you may like this one.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE AND IT REALLY GOT TO ME... BECAUSE IT WAS LOVE AND THEY WERE GOOD TOGETHER.... EVEN THOUGH THEY DIDN'T END TOGETHER THEY ARE STILL IN EACH OTHERS HEARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A not too bad of a film about teenage love. Drew Barrymore as a mentally ill girl who falls for a guy whom both run off, but he realises she needs help. An interesting film with a great story.
It makes a good point, it lingers and it either makes you question your sanity or appreciate it. This and Batman Forever were my two favourite movies to come out in 1995.
This is a poor flick,in terms of screenplay. However,Drew really captures the feeling of mental illness. Its like she has some personal knowledge of severe depression to be able to pull off a performance like this. She really elevates the movie from a 2-bit teen romance and makes it worth watching.
This is one of my favorite movies. The love in it, and the pain in here. I know what depression is like her. I have been dealing with it since I was 12.
she was so fucked up, i feel like it was left to assume that the movie was in restrospect of Barrymore's dark, druggie wild-child childhood days. this is cause her character never really put a stamp as to WHAT was the cause for all the "voices" she hears and the slow-peeling layers of in-your-face craziness. and you believe her because you know she knows what she's talking about. she's been there, however sad that may be. i believe tragedy inspires those who encounter it. and it is smart, or perhaps wise, to stem personal experiences, tragedy or no, to each's art and certain work. O'Donnell sadly, a different tragedy, was just in for the ride.
Somehow I jus fell in love with what i would usually classify as a boy-meets girl drama..maybe just loved the simplicity of it and yeah, liked Chris O Donnell and Draw Barrymore was just playing herself, a wildchild.
This movie began with a certain kind of charm that wasn't able to sustain it. This is one of those movies that will forever be in the bargain bin of movies stores on VHS. You know the kind.
