Yes, I finally got to see the third installments in the Mad Max Trilogy! It was great Mad Max once again gets his stuff stolen so he seeks Bartertown and thinks he is getting a "deal" when he enters the Thunderdome to fight Blaster. It was sad that Aunty wanted Max to kill Blaster when he was just a mentally retartded guy, he was like a baby, that was sad. I didn't know that Tina Turner was such a good actress and what was with the master of the ring was he trying to be like Vincent Price or something? It was sad when Max left the children standing on top of the plane and he had to tell them there was no Tomorrowland but they had to know. I liked the guy with white and black paint on his body he was so freakin' funny!? Once again Max was left by the Gyro Capatain but I think Max does better alone on the road. The third installment was great and ended the trilogy well.

My favourite of the trilogy due to the more creative storyline and characters, plus I really likes Tina Turner's dominatrix character.

A disappointing final chapter in the Mad Max trilogy. The movie does contain a phenomenal fight between Max and a guy called Master Blaster inside the Thunderdome, where they fly around on bungee cords and weild weapons from sledgehammers to chainsaws. Then there is the final chase scene that contains the great actions sequences that made the series famous. But in between those scenes is a storyline that bogs the movie down. It involves Max and a group of children that are surivors of a long ago plane crash, that see him as the pilot they believed destined to rescue them. Then there is Tina Turner as Aunty Entity, the leader of Bartertown, where she makes the rules and decides who lives or dies. The movie is visually impressive as director George Miller delivers a fully realized world of people that have made a new world for themselves in the aftermath of nuclear holocost. But the story softens Max up by making him a borderline father figure to this group of orphans. The middle part of the movie drags, and never reaches the heights of either Mad Max or The Road Warrior. Still the action sequences deliver the goods, and it's a well acting and visually impressive movie.

Mel Gibson and Tina Turner square off in this post nuclear war sequel to the other Mad Max movies, and it's the worst one.

Honestly, this was a little too boring for me. It's really different from the other Mad Max films. =/

another good sequel (although i like "the road warrior" much better). been a while since i've seen, so i don't remember too much

"Two men enter, one man leaves." That is such a great line to the thunderdome concept. It is just too bad that the rest of the movie is only so-so at best.
Just from hearing the title, you expect to see Mad Max fighting in the thunderdome in some sort of tournament or something. In fact, this film isn't like that at all.
The first part of the film is what one expects to see. Mad Max finds his way into an oasis town before making a deal to fight in the thunderdome. This just happens to be the best part of the film. That's right. The best part takes place within the first half of the movie. What about the final fight at the end, where Mad Max takes on the baddest motherf***** in town? There isn't any final fight. There is only one fight in the thunderdome and that is it. No more thunderdome for the rest of the film.
As for the fight, it is highly entertaining. The two combatants are attached to elastic straps, which allow them to fly all over the dome and grab a variety of weapons to kill each other with. Great stuff.
The middle of the film is weird. Mad Max stumbles across a colony of young people and it is like watching the lost boys from Hook. Eventually stuff happens and you end up with a decent vehicle chase at the end. That's all there is to it.
Mel Gibson is able to pull off Max again, while Tina Turner is only an average heel. Helen Buday also provides something nice to look at.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome has a decent story, but it strays away from itself and this is its downfall. Take a chance and see what you think.

Nothing like the first two GOOD flicks. Lost the charm of the story and the character. The title sounds cool though lol...
62/100 -
Overall, the film was pointless and the result was nearly nothing as well. The only part worth noting is from the kids left the oasis to the end of the train track.
-
But luckily for me, he is also in crap little things such as the Mad Max movies.... which i owe him no respect to!
-
"Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves!" -Definitely the highlight of the film. It goes downhill from that point. The Thunderdome should've been the climax of the film, not just beginning.

The Mad Max trilogy ends on a very weak note due to the loss of Byron Kennedy who died in a helicopter crash while scouting locations for the movie.
George Miller, the director of the first two only directed the action sequences in this one as he hired someone else to direct the rest of the movie.
The best scene is the fight in the Thunderdome.
Mel Gibson, Tina Turner and Bruce Spence star. -
Rolling on the ground laughing my butt off! This movie is funnier the 2nd and 3rd time you watch it.

Aunty Entity: Remember where you are - this is Thunderdome, and death is listening, and will take the first man that screams.
To follow up a movie as epic as Road Warrior, you need something pretty amazing, and while there are some flaws in this final chapter of the Mad Max trilogy, it is still full of imagination and some cool scenes.
Gibson is back as Max, with an opening sequence involving the same characters from the end claiming to have never seen the Road Warrior again, seeing him again and stealing his vehicle.
Max then walks to a place known as Bartertown, to find a new means of transportation. There he meets the town chief, Auntie Entity, played by Tina Turner.
She offers Max the chance to leave with plenty of supplies if he eliminates the other leader of Bartertown. This is Master-Blaster, a person made up of two people, one is the brains, the other is the brawn. He lives in the depths of Bartertown, controlling the electricity.
To get the job done, Max must fight Blaster in Thunderdome.
Dr. Dealgood: [giving instructions to Mad Max and Blaster prior to their battle] Thunderdome's simple. Get to the weapons, use them any way you can. I know you won't break the rules, because there aren't any.
This is the highlight of the movie, and sadly not seen long enough to justify its use in the title.
After the events transpire there, Max eventually winds up in the desert, where he encounters a group of lost boys and things carry on fro there.
Director George Miller returns, but only to direct the action scenes, which is apparent, because his style is so distinct, that compare to the rest of the film, has plenty more energy.
This whole film seems like it could have functioned without Max, a series that could have easily ended after the first sequel, but it is still very entertaining.
All of the crazy characters, neat post-apocalyptic set design, awesome action sequences including Thunderdome and a much delayed car chase, as opposed to the other films of this series - these things all add up to a lot of fun.
A fine conclusion to this series down under.
Jedediah the Pilot: We're not gonna make it.
Max: We haven't got any choice.
Jedediah the Pilot: between them and us, there isn't enough runway.
Max: There will be. -
It's about as good as the others. I don't hate Mad Max series, I just didn't like it that much either.
-
Not as good as the other two. It had a very weak and stupid plot that only dragged the film on. Even the chase sequence looks recycled from the second one. Very disappointing entry in what is a good series od films.
-
its simply an 80's movie with 90's money behind it. story is disjointed and at one point i thought i saw keith smoking in the background.
-
This is how I think we should decide on Presidents. Two candidates enter, one (or maybe neither) leaves!
-
Mel Gibson was brilliant in all the Mad Max movies and Tina Turner showed that she can do MUCH more than dance!!!
-
I wasnt really fussed on the Mad Max stuff, Mel Gibson is the best part of this movie in my opinion!
-
I loved all three Mad Max films but I like Thunderdome the best. The kids were all so hopeful of leaving the desert in search of a better life but in the end all they had was each other in a deserted wasteland. Tina Turner's performance was flawless!
-
Not as good as the first 2 of course...but then again what iz...with the exception of the Saw moviez I have never seen a triple movie that rockz.
-
The beginning was cool, but once the peter pan kids came it was kinda dumb. Lots of unbelievable stuff happens. What happened to the good old max that we know and love with totally homosexual villains?
-
Didn't like it as much as The Road Warrior but was still pretty good. The best part was easily the Thunderdome fight scene, unfortunately for this movie it had alot of crappy child actors who couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag.
