Above average movie with not too bad acting. It is mostly about searching for meaning in life, albeit a bit superficial, and at the level of Hollywood. Recommended, and works on a DVD.
Kinda boring movie with Rebecca Romijin, Ben Affleck, Adam Goldberg, Jerry O'Conell and John Cleese. It's the kind of movie you watch once, and then you just forget about it. I saw it like 4 hours ago, and yet I can't really remember it. Anyways, Cleese character is awesome ;)
throughout this movie I never really understand why the wife wants to stay with this guy. What's so great about him, then again-there really isn't much depth to either character? This is the kind of movie you can have playing in the background and still be able to follow what's going on.
3 out of 5 stars, not bad acting or story really-it just was a really boring movie to me.
Um filme bem legal, trilha excelente. A única coisa que estraga é que a história tem todo um aspecto de filme independente, mas usa um 'elenco estelar', aí fica estranho.
I really enjoyed this movie, Of course anything with Ben Affleck is always good because even if it's not, you can still drool over the scenes. With that said the plot and storyline were very good.
When I rented this at the crazy movie machine place and it said a comedy... It wasn't very funny, though it was good. And I was VERY happy to see John Cleese in it. It was a good movie, but it could have been much better.
Actually engaging and pretty funny. Affleck is actually really good in this film. I actually liked this film. I really couldn't stand Bai Ling though but at least she didn't try to sing in this movie.
A drama movie mostly and no comedy or action at all which i thought it would be. Anyway the movie is watchable and Ben Affleck are great as he usually are. Story is about a top agent in Hollywood that gets some problems with his wife and other stuff involving his job. The movie is maybe slow sometime but as i said ,, watchable but nothing more..
A very entertaining hidden gem because I had not really heard anything about this movie and just happened upon it on the shelf at the video store. I am a big fan of Ben Affleck too so I knew I had to see it. Because the story revolves around Jack's journal, we get a lot of his voice over narrative which is very revealing and allowed me to really get to know, like and care about his character. But the whole film is filled with likable, funny and charming people. There were some laugh out loud moments like a hilarious scene where Jack is in serious pain at the dentist office. Favorite scene: A chase with Jack and his co-workers that leads to a karate stand-off!
It´s Ben Affleck return to the good films. This guy Mike Binder knows how to tell a story with depth, but without losing the good mood.
Great ensemble cast. I loved the scene where Ben Affleck speaks to his wife in the phone, while he sees a Basic Instinct audiction and suddenly, his client that he hates enters the room. It´s hilarious!
Good to see along The Last Kiss with Zach Braff.
This film follows Ben as an ad executive whose wife, Rebecca Romijn is caught sleeping with his biggest client, played by Adam Goldberg. What ensues is a coming-of-age tale that focuses on the elements of forgiving and forgetting, and how hard that sometimes can be. With an impressive cast of Affleck, Romijn, Goldberg, Ling, Cleese, and Gershon, this straight-to-video flick is better than average for its' type, but it's not the masterpieces...
The best Ben Affleck movie seen to date! This movie is very real....dealing with true issues everyone has...and the big question in peoples lives, WHO AM I? I loved the story, plot, acting, ect great film eriod.
Nothing special, expect to see it in a bargain bin near you sometime soon...not worth owning, don't even think it's worth renting. It isn't that the acting was terrible or the script atrocious, it just lacks that x factor that makes movies worth watching.
From the inventive director of "The Upside Of Anger" comes this uneven, yet subtlely entertaining character drama. Mike Binder took a gamble in casting the disgraced, but nevertheless solid Ben Affleck in the lead role, and while the film doesn't work all the time, Ben does, and that's a great damn relief. This film follows Ben as an ad executive whose wife, Rebecca Romijn is caught sleeping with his biggest client, played by Adam Goldberg. An average comedy that is a big disappointment from writer/director/co-star Mike Binder (whose previous film was the terrific "The Upside Of Anger"). Ben Affleck and the rest of the all star cast are solid but there isn't much for them to do with the material, plus it isn't really that funny. I will admit that it does have its moments here and there.
Not bad...kinda confussing with the story line. Towards the end...you kinda come back on track and get the jist of the movie. Basically, your typical life lesson in this one.
