Critic Reviews

  • Daniel M. Kimmel, Variety

Chief problem is that Max the dog -- a Tibetan mastiff -- is easily the most likable character in the movie.

  • Michael H. Price, Fort Worth Business Press

... a canine Frankenstein with real bite.

  • Alex Sandell, Juicy Cerebellum

A smart dog turns from friendly to killer. Like 'Old Yeller' with gore, and a really crummy plot.

  • Scott Weinberg, eFilmCritic.com

One of the sillier "killer dog" movies - and that's saying something.

Competently done, but mostly very silly. Except for the dog rape scene. Dog rape should always be taken very seriously. As should the scene where the dog eats a cat like a duck (without swallowing).

  • Lafe F

Bad doggie! Not a very memorable movie.

  • Dr Blood

There are lots of funny moments involving postmen and cats but these cliches are pushed way, way into the goriest extremes.

  • Jason S

Killer dog who longs to be cujo. And he swallows a cat whole.

  • danny d

at least the dog was kinda cute
