Interesting biography of the species. A bird that lives in the ocean and walks upright on the coldest continent of earth. Great camera work and narration by Morgan Freeman.
Wonderful and bloody heartbreaking at the same time. Beautifully shot and well narrated by Freeman who didn't jabber on incessantly to make a point - so much of this was purely visual
i don't see the big deal about this film. i think they should've cut the national geographic crap and let alejandro jodorosky direct and spice things up a bit. then we would've had a film for the ages, not this snore-fest.
Beautiful pictures and atmosphere, thought- the humanizing of the animals is a bit too much... would work great as a documentary, but then it would need some scientific narration.
Good movie, bad movie to watch with small children who love penguins--all the dying baby penguins are rather upsetting. Also, it could stand to be shorter--I'm not sure that anyone needs an hour of meaningful shots of blizzards.
Beautiful narration interwoven with a deeply moving soundtrack, the film traces the treacherous and tumultuous journey of life as an emperor penguin. It tugs at your heartstrings with the warm and touching images of the penguins' courtship and adventures.
I really enjoyed the story of the lives of these penguins who conquer amazing challenges and continue to fight...survival of the fittest.
Very cuteee...!
March of the Penguins is an interesting documentary following exactly what the title states. It is full of astounding facts and footage and has crisp and clear narration. What the film lacks is the fact that it is hard to be kept interested. Tue to the fact that most of the movie seems like a bunch of penguins walking around as you here the facts over the film. There are a few shots that are quite intriguing, which helps the past fault a little bit. If you do, however, enjoy movies about wildlife and penguins and have a passion for learning, this is the film for you. If not, then steer clear.
The definitive Penguin movie, the hell with Happy Feet, Surfs Up or any other Penguin movie keep it focused on this documentary and ignore the crap then its all good.
Excellent documentary! Take your children and watch this! Itis trully amazing and very well made. You'll be left amazed and charmed ENTIRELY. W all learn something everyday, now don't we?
Booooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!! :P (N)
No even worth half a star but thats what im puttin it as :P
I was kind of confused by the movie or documentary or whatever it was. it was like a doumentary but not like a documentary. It was more like a story then a documentary,. There were no like stated hard facts and it was just simply more a story. So personally i don't know if i could call this a documentary.. in which it seems to be.. Don't get me wrong some of the editing and music and cinematography was AMAZING!! But as an overall project i didn't enjoy it too much!
awesome filming with a great narrator, morgan freeman. the story was captivating without a dull moment and incredibly moving. it had a great mix of sad, funny, and adorable sequences. a must-see for documentary-lovers!
