A cringe-making, bodily function-orientated film with a load of annoying characters and a very little amount of comedy. Anyone who likes films like Love Actually and Notting Hill will probably enjoy this. I prefer Norman J. Warren movies myself.
Cute, light comedy. Joely Richardson, Hugh Laurie and their bassett hound are fun to watch, with some fun cameos by Rowan Atkinson and Emma Thompson. In the end, a pretty formulaic story; reminded me a bit of "Nine Months" with Hugh Grant except this time without a baby on the way.
Absolute crap. A waste of a film. Predictable, cliche, vacant, contrived. The one redeeming quality is seeing Hugh Laurie topless at random moments. Not enough to warrant it worth a watch.
woooooooot. what a laugh...hugh was funny as ass!!!!! if u wanna see hugh with his clothes off multiple times doing it..i reckomend it!! !oh thats HOTTTTT
The cameos alone gave it a star. I love Rowan Atkinson and Dawn French. The film couldn't have a better cast but the story really wasn't my thing. Very funny film. Dawn French had to be the funniest. Hugh Laurie is a very funny guy but this film didn't show it quite as much as others. Not a bad film though. I liked the ending.
Hugh Laurie did some appalling crap before he settled into the role of the superb House, and this is one example. All the usual faces go through the motions of 30-something observational romantic comedy, directed by Britain's biggest sell out Ben Elton. An example of everything I detest about british comedy.
Hugh Laurie discussing sperm tests, masturbating in municipal buildings, and knob socks (if you listen to the director's commentary); what more could a woman ask for?!
I love the comedy and all of the great older British comedians together in one movie, put together by Ben Elton's brilliance. Fantastic. Although, I do agree that Hugh Laurie looks better as a rough diagnostician and not a lovesick puppy =P
There were some great moments in this movie, the scene where she slides off the mo-ped seat cracked me up. But it sometimes became a bit of a drag with the pregnancy issue. I guess I didn't care for the turn of seriousness at the end. I would recommend for the first three-quarters.
I know its natural accent but after becoming a huge fan of 'House' it's very strange seeing and hearing Hugh like this. The same is true of Joely, really English but American in hit show Nip/Tuck... just weird!
i laughted all the way through this, hugh lauries character is really funny and some other comerdy guests too... ben elton and friends did a great job and its a really good movie if ya down lol.
Halarious. Really fantastic British comedy. Fantastic performances from Hugh Laurie and sometimes from Joely Richardson (though there are some moments where she fails to impress) And the supporting cast really sets up a fantastic movie. Compelling storyline and some moments of high emotions which are surprising.
