Worth watching over and over and over and over again. Wayne and O'Hara have great screen chemistry. This is a classic romantic comedy.

Another great John Wayne film, and another one of my favorite old films. O'Hara and Wayne worked perfectly together, and she did a great job to not let the Duke overshadow her. Everyone's favorite and most memorable scene is, of course, the mud scene.

amusing and funny western comedy with a bit of spanking in if you're into that sorta thing! the duke shows his softer side and maureen o'hara plays a bitter but laughable character. she even looks good for an older woman. entertaining afternoon tv

McLintock! did exactly what it was intended to do. It gave 1960's audiences the John Wayne they had come to know and love, it was fun, it was immensely entertaining, and it made a ton of money. That in itself is noteworthy because John Wayne's production company, after the disappointing box office take of The Alamo, was in the red and in need of a financial success. In spite of the references to The Taming of the Shrew, this is NOT Shakespeare, but that doesn't really matter. It's simply John Wayne doing what he did best.
