What a pleasant surprise: a teen movie that didn't suck. Probably because it wasn't actually a teen movie, but rather, another example of Tina Fey's comedic genius. Mean Girls is a fun, honest movie that should not be missed, one that you can watch again and again for its combi...( read more)nation of humour and (unlike actual teen movies) its inclusion of... a point. Great fun to pick out Toronto all over this movie, too, I know people and places in this one.

Not as funny as I was expecting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either.

Its ok, not really my kind of film though. I liked it when the annoying girl got hit by a bus and there are some good performances. I even laughed once or twice!

So mean. No wonder I hated school.

I love how they paint high school up towards the viewers. I find high school nothing like it. It's a good movie for just a night with the girls.

Only the strong survive. Movie audiences, watch your back, 'cause the Mean Girls are comin' to get you. Cady Heron was raised in Africa and moves to the United States where she learns that teenage high school life is similar to that in the jungle. She then joins The Plasti...( read more)cs, the A-list girl clique who represents school royalty and write down vicious rumors about other girls in their "Burn Book". Meanwhile, as she attempts to bring these popular girls down, Cady acts, dresses, and talks like them and even mistakenly falls for queen bee Regina George's ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels.

Adapted from the Rosalind Wiseman book Queen Bees & Wannabees and directed by Mark Waters, Mean Girls features good acting performances from the following cast:
    1.) Lindsay Lohan (Cady Heron)
    2.) Rachel McAdams (Regina George)
    3.) Lacey Chabert (Gretchen Wieners)
    4.) Amanda Seyfried (Karen Smith)
    5.) Daniel Franzese (Damian)
    6.) Lizzy Caplan (Janis Ian)
    7.) Jonathan Bennett (Aaron Samuels)
    8.) Tina Fey (Ms. Norbury)
    9.) Tim Meadows (Mr. Duvall)
    10.) Amy Poehler (Mrs. George)
    11.) Ana Gasteyer (Mrs. Heron)
    12.) Neil Flynn (Mr. Heron)

Mean Girls introduced me to how the teen film genre that often features how rich girls who like to talk in slang terms like "fugly" and "fetch" and intimidate innocent people into trouble. It was an excellent film that explores the portrayal of subcultures who dominate the school and their immediate effects, and one of my favorite romantic chick flicks of all time. By watching at this comedic depiction of high school life, I knew it was something that I would've recognized in my own old school days with all the cliques that I've been through during lunchtime. The acting performances here are outstanding, including those of three of my favorite actresses: A formerly cute, freckle-faced girl from The Parent Trap; a Notebook starlet; and a geeky-looking comedienne who would later joke about seeing Russia from her house. Lindsay Lohan gets the most notable credit here for not just being a formerly home-schooled freak but a grown-up actress with the pretty sexy looks, which both contribute why Mean Girls is my favorite film with her. I can say that it's a great high school story, and I'm never, ever going to get tired of it! :)

As a special bonus, here is a list of my favorite film quotes that will keep me awake all night, including:
1.) "There are two kinds of evil people in the world. Those who do evil things and those who see evil things and don't try to stop it." (Janis Ian)
2.) "So if you're from Africa, why are you white?" (Karen Smith)
3.) "Oh my god, Danny DeVito. I love your work!" (Damian)
4.) "Boo, you whore." (Regina George)
5.) "Hell no, I did not leave the South Side for this!" (Mr. Duvall)
6.) "I'm sorry that people are so jealous of me, but I can't help it that I'm popular." (Gretchen Weiners)
