An enjoyable drama as a scientist is close to discovering a cure for cancer but bulldozers are closing in on the area of forest where the plants with the possible cure are located.
I remember being annoyed after watching this movie because it did make you think that a cure for cancer could be in the jungles or wherever and humans are destrying all these areas where the cure may be. so the film did affect me and Sean Connery was good in his role.
I saw this film on a fabulous first date...the film is pretty good and I recall that we both enjoyed it. It may not be Lawrence of Arabia or Casablanca but still it isn't at all bad...
Gotta love Connery and bracco in this movie... I especially love the scene where she is given the tree bark juice to help with her headache...gotta get me some of that stuff.
I saw thisin a biology class. It ws interesting, different from what I am used to. Sean Connery does a good job, but the movie is too out of the loop for me.
Director John McTiernan (February 1992 Release Date)
NOW I CALL THAT SEXY!!! WHEW!! MUST SEE! (As blackdogkennelz quotes from this movie, "He says you should keep your panties on when swimming in the amazon as there is a tiny fish that can swim up your erethra?!")
The scenery alone makes this movie worth watching.Sean Connery is at his sexiest since 007 in the rainforest with Bracco who has intense chemistry with Connery in a story that makes you feel on many levels.
Pretty interesting story with (as always) great acting by Sean Connery. Lorraine Bracco's character, however, was mostly just very annoying with her constant whining and uptight personality, but it's good to see she softened up in the end. The movie is really nothing special, but I personally have a thing for jungle scenery and the music helped in making the overall feeling a pleasant one, save for the sad reminder of the destructive side of the human race, as we're still slowly wiping out the wondrous beauty of the rain forests.
The dialogue in this movie is very entertaining, but half the time it is not edited very well; the actors don't seem to participate with one another as much as they seem to be reading lines. Anyways, the music and scenery is very well done, and the story is kind of neat too, but it doesn't really keep you in suspense. However, I still enjoyed it.
It's an underrated film, but is truly great. Sean Connery is as we've always imagined him to be; he's grumpy, humourous and demanding of respect, even though he ends up respecting one in the end... ;)

Ok, so I have only seen the first 20 minutes of it so I might change my mind, but we were watching it at school. So far, visually it has been quite good, but It seems to be nothing but a very stubbourn, annoying, stuck-up woman screaming at an old man. I am hoping it will get better, but I don't think it will unfortunately...
This was one of my favorite movies with Sean Connery. I am not sure why a really liked it so much. Maybe it was the bickering back and forth, or the concept of finding a cure for cancer, or the strangeness of the cultural beliefs. But found this to be really a enjoyable film.
this should encourage people to save the amazon. SAVE THE AMAZON, less amazon= less rain in that area so it will eventually turn into a desert and less carbon dioxide taken in by the trees less oxygen made thus less oxygen in the air so we will all sufercate.
