This movie is nothing like meet the parents, its a very funny story about a BLACK family pulling together in the time of need. And every family has a person that can relate to each and every charcter. But in main subject of the movie is that faith and love will bring one through any hard times. SO BOO to all the people that didn't get the point.

I never gave the whole Tyler Perry movie thing a try because i thought they would be ridiculous and ghetto, but man was i wrong! I can't believe how wrong i was! well, 2 days ago i went with a bunch of people that really wanted to see this movie. i kept saying to myself, "i just know this is going to be ghetto." well, as i already said i was wrong. This movie was powerful, real, heart-felt and funny, all at the same time. this is the kind of light i like to see black films in. it was truly inspiring. it tells a tale of a struggling single mom, Brenda, doing her best to raise her kids and keep them out of trouble, while living a very poor stressful life in the projects of Chicago. one day she gets a letter saying that her father (whom she has never met) has died, and that she is invited to the funeral. Little did Brenda know that going to the backwoods of Georgia to meet the family she has never met, would change her life forever. The poor single mom, finds how powerful the love from family can be, and how hard believing in love is, but when you find it , you should never let go. This movie tells a story of true love and family really well. i was truly touched. i cried during the scene where Brenda finally confesses her love to the guy in the movie. How she was telling him that she was afraid. But she would rather be afraid and with him, than not afraid and without him. it was so beautiful. it sounds like something i would say to a guy. this movie made me proud because it wasn't ghetto, it has no cussing, no violence, and no sex. it was hilarious, powerful and inspirational. i was wrong about tyler perry movies and i will be sure to check out the whole collection.
