Relatively funny and worth watching for certain spoofs, but also stupid enough in the joke telling to skip it. Depends on what you consider humor. Kevin Sorbo needs to go ahead and fire his agent for getting him on board this half-gay comedy wannabe.
Oh My God! I feel less intelligent for having seen this steaming pile. Brash, painful and desperately clawing for laughs. Yeah, theres a few chuckles, but they're hard to hear over the sheer mass of groans. The shameless pop-culture box ticking wears thin very quickly and for the most part, it's as painful as the 'Casino Royale' testicle bashing scene (which is also "spoofed"). Where is Leslie Neilsen when you need him? If nothing else, viewers of this movie can feel very talented by comparison to anything on-screen.
This one had it's moments.I was a little disappointed because it was trying too hard.Kind of like Epic Movie. What was funny was funny, what wasn't was just boring and a little annoying. The gag reel was funnier than the actual movie. It's fine to watch if you have nothing else to do and go in not expecting much.
A movie that really only bags on the movie 300 with one looooooong gay joke and not much else. Barely one or two slightly clever parts (the blue screen) cannot cover up this weak parody.
Maybe it was because I was in an exhausted delerium while I watched this movie, or maybe it's because I thought the original 300 movie was hilarious, but I found this movie to be quite funny. How can you not laugh at a bunch of buff men running around in leather thongs and capes, seriously. Some of the jokes and product placement spoofs were taken a little too far but other than that it was alright.
This movie looks so stupid!!! I want to see it I guess.....but I won't waste my money to "go see it"! lol
JUNE 30th
OMG!!! I am sooo glad I didn't waste my money on this movie. I think it was one of the worst films I have ever seen. It had a funny scene here and there, but it was TERRRABLE!!! Very crude and STUPID
One of the worst things Ive ever seen. The moments I smiled a bit, the marching with the blue screens at the end for instance, did not make up for the multiple scenes with projectile vomiting, and the constant horribly tacked on inclusion of the wors...(read more)t of TMZ culture Brittany Spears, American Idol, Paris Hilton, game shows like Deal Or No Deal, Dance Movies, etc, wi. Probably the worst movie of the year. 300 may have been homophobic, and self indulgent, but no movie deserves a parody of this quality. A half star too much
Over played...SEVERAL scenes in the commercials are not even in the movie nor available as cut scenes...i.e. rambo. It was kinda funny, I like stupid funny...trust me...but this...just...tried to hard.
Hercules and dance offs, slamming on Britney, those were funny. But what earned this movie an extra star was the video game scene, I?m a sucker for a good video game scene. Otherwise, this was one spoof movie too many.
4 outta 5 stars: Not the worst, but not the best.
There were a couple of funny parts, but the majority of it was just painful to watch. Still slightly better than some of the recent parody movies though...
The Spartan Skipping Prance still makes me laugh though...
don't really like it as much as the other films which are compilations of such genre in movies... but it was still funny in some parts... it was just quite offensive for other artists too... that's why it's too much for me to handle....
It's an awful spoof, as expected. I think they sent to much time focusing on random parodies that didn't flow into the general context. The filmmakers also missed a lot of opportunities for some good, sharp, witty sketches. I'm surprised that they didn't spoof more of the recent over-the-top historical remakes, like Alexander, Troy, Gladiator, Beowulf, etc.
I had some high hopes for this one, for some odd reason. It just wasn't amusing, perhaps I should've seen 300 before seeing this one, to fully understand what was getting made fun of. Carmen Electra is always there just for the sexuality, which also grabs the attention of the men viewers. LOL. The only ideas that were unique about this one, however, was the use of the game shows and the better use of celebrities. (Britney Spears and Kevin Federline... and their whole mess, Tyra Banks) I think that parody movies have died after Scary Movie 2 came out. But, there will always be some movie/celebrity to make fun of down the road. I just keep biting the bait to rent them.
