One of my favorite movies. Can't refuse an opportunity to watch it again, really. Direction's perfect. Confuses you when it starts, that's why many people hate it. Well, if you're looking for an intelligent plotted movie, here it is. It keeps surprising you until the end and makes you wanna watch it again to get some detailed info. One of the few 10/10.
I' m not sure why I decided to watch this movie in a first place. I'm not a big fan of Guy Pearce nor Carrie-Anne Moss. Also, back then, I didn't know anything about Christopher Nolan... But it turned out to be very good. Unexpectedly interesting. One of the best for sure.
This movie has a great story to tell and a great way of telling it. However, you may want to watch it more than once in order to fully understand some parts.
Probably one of the best of the movies told from the end to the beginning. Main character has no ability to maintain short-term memory so he tattoos clues about his wife's murder on his body. I've watched it over and over.
I remember seeing the cover to this in a rental shop YEARS ago n thinking, that isma clever cover n I was only like 8, & I have always remembered the name of it.
But anyway, um I don't actually know anything about it, haha.
I didnt like this as much as I hoped I would. Be warned the whole thing is basically working backwards. So it begins with the ending and works backward until you can understand what led to the end (well begingin of the movie). Its not that hard to follow though, I had to pause a few times to make sure I wasnt forgetting anything though. All in all in the end, I think I understand it all, and its pretty interesting, but not as good or shocking as i thought it would be.

I vaguely remember this moive, but I remember how I felt watching it. Acting aside the story was good enough.
A person with short term memory loss has to tatoo himself before vital information is forever lost. He is on the trail of the person he thinks murdered his wife.
As the character Pearce pursues his investigation we are taken into webs of lies and deceit.
Only Christopher Nolan could pull off a film like this, weaving a web that starts at the end of the movie and heads backwards to the beginning. Each scene witnessed is an explanation of the one before it, leaving the viewer just as confused as Leonard Shelby, the man searching for his wife's killer while suffering from an extremely rare case of memory loss. The small cast does an excellent job with a simple story that is turned upside down because of the way it's presented. Guy Pearce is incredible here, though he seems to have had some trouble following up this and L.A. Confidential. Thumbs up to joe Pantoliano as well.
Amazing film by the great Christopher Nolan. I suggest you watch it again to appreciate its brilliance. You've never watched anything like this before. It's THAT original.
Started out great but left me feeling a bit confused at the end. The ending didn't bring all the bits and pieces together. Had to watch it a second time to understand it. Even then it left me feeling like i was the one with the short-term memory loss. Maybe that was the purpose of the movie to make you experience what it feels like to have short-term memory loss. Not a movie to watch if you want to kick back and relax. You need your brain for this. It's a good movie actually, i just didn't like how it ended.

I am a total sucker for nonlinear plot structures, and this film completely blew my mind. a rock-solid suspense thriller that keeps you completely riveted from start to finish, throwing twists and turns at you like there were an unlimited supply. brilliant direction, editing, and cinematography, and the acting was just spot-on. never have I seen a movie that so thoroughly ensconced the viewer in the psychological and mental workings of a character. awesome...just awesome.
Brilliant in its strategic use of information by building the story in secret right under your nose, in the way its unreliable narrator keeps you guessing, in the way each scene is necessary yet ambiguous and adds new dimension to the story. The film takes you on quite a trip. Frustratingly confusing but hugely rewatchable, it is a different viewing experience every time you see it.
A mind-blowing and electrifying thriller. A real classic. Stunning, breathtaking, mind-bending and exhilerating. It's stylish, witty, nail-biting, intoxicating and teriffically addictive. A great body of work. It works from all corners and pieces itself nicely. A masterpiece. Amazing and astonishing. This film takes it's place as one of the finest crime thrillers ever created. An explosive and hard boiled plot that never let's up for a second. It gets richer with every layer. A real adreniline fuelled cocktail of a film. It will keep you on the edge of your seat then it will be blow you away. Guy Pearce gives a brilliant and incrediable performance, he acts with such dedication and nobility to this character. Director, Christopher Nolan is an extroadinary new filmmaker of uncompareable talent. A unique and creative style that will only get better.
