Japanese screen star Jiro Sato makes his feature directorial debut with this uplifting comedy drama concerning a young schoolgirl whose compulsion for scribbling down nonsensical messages finds her ostracized by her overly judgmental classmates. Mayuko (Hanae Kan) has a habit of writing bizarre prose. Despite her fun-loving teacher's repeated attempts to integrate Mayuko with her classmates, no one wants anything to do with the girl who can't seem to control her own thoughts. Mayuko's fortune begins to look up, however, when her eccentric uncle arrives to offer a whole new outlook on life. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
