I feel lazy for not reading the book first. I really did enjoy this film but I do wish it had been a Japanese production. It was a bit too westernised for my liking. That said, the cinematography and the acting are fantastic!

Well I've never read the book, which I've heard is better (which is almost always the case). Interestingly enough, this is taking place in Japan and many of the actresses are Chinese which is very obvious. However, it was a good movie. Had some nice shots.
