Plot: Two men who keep an eye on aliens in New York City must try to save the world after the aliens threaten to blow it up.
Zed: "Kay, give the kid a weapon.
[Kay opens a chest filled with intergalactic guns. He picks up a large rifle]
Kay: A Series Four De-atomizer.
Jay: That's what I'm talkin' about.
Kay: [picks up a very tiny gun and gives it to Jay] Noisy Cricket.
Jay: [stares the weapon in disguist] Hey, Kay, nah nah. Come on, man, y-you get a Series Four De-atomizer and I-I get a little - little midget cricket?
Kay: [notices Jay is pointing the gun in his direction] WHOA! kid...
[grabs the arm Jay is holding the weapon with and points it away from him]
Jay: Feel like I'm gonna break this damn thing."
Based on the comic-book characters created by Lowell Cunningham, "Men in Black" is built on the premise that space aliens live among us. The story is about a police officer (Will Smith) who, in the process of chasing down a criminal, discovers a conspiracy by evil aliens. Soon, he is in the company of Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones), a strange individual who exposes to Smith that thousands of aliens live among humans. He is an agent for The Men in Black, a secret agency that monitors the immigration of aliens on to earth and acts as a security team to take down the nasty critters that arrive every so often. So our average cop is invited to join MIB, and he accepts. His existence is erased entirely. All of his records are destroyed, his fingertips are burnt off, and he receives a new name, Agent J. His first assignment: Work with K and locate an insane alien "bug" that has disguised himself as a redneck farmer (Vincent D'Onofrio). The lopsided chemistry between Smith and Jones that fuels a lot of the humor. Jones plays the relatively straight guy to Smith's cocky partner-in-training character. Linda Fiorentino doesn't do badly with the stuff she gets, and Vincent D'Onofrio is hilarious with his mannerisms as the decomposing bug.
I loved the story, i loved the monsters, and yes the suits kicked ass. Will Smith stole the show with his humour and his character. And it doesn't hurt to have academy award winning best make up to give the movie it's best.
I like this movie. It's like one of those old X-Files episodes that was funny. TommyLee Jones and Willy Smith are good together, Barry Sonnenfeld's got a good eye, and the writer was Ed Solomon, who was one of the guy's behind Bill and Ted. So yah.
TLJ's last decent movie before they found his career in the bathtub with a razor blade. At least Will Smith is doing pretty good for himself these days.
good chemistry between Jones and Smith....nice touches of humor and the effects are excellent..soundtrack by elfman works well...

Very good. I first saw this when i was fairly young so it has sentimental value to me. I consider it an old classic.
