  Once again aliens with a malevolent agenda are running loose on Earth, and the only hope for stopping them lies in the hands of the Men in Black in this sequel to the 1997 hit. Yeah, the effects are once again top notch, and the performances from Smith and Jones ultimately save things, but overall, this sequel is a real disappointment. For one thing, it just feels really uninspired, and doesn't have the level of engagement as the first one. It's also rather lazy, extremely hit and miss with the humor (mostly miss), and criminally short where the run time is concerned. Sure, it does have it's moments, and it's not a bore when it comes to entertainment, but nothing is really done to make the audience really care. This film easily comes off as a typical sequel summer cash in event, and that's a shame. It's really too bad they didn't take more time to craft something worthwhile instead of ending up with some quite lackluster and dull.

  'Men in Black II' feels a lot less original compared to its original. This could have been a new, clever chapter for both Kay and Jay. Instead, it feels like the original story, but its lost its punch and humor.

Men in Black II is heavier on action but has almost no laughs or charisma, and relies primarily on the formula of the first film and the chemistry between Smith and Jones and consequently, it's to frightened to try anything different. It's quite simply the perfect example of an awaited sequel that turns out to be a dissapointment.

  Not even close to being as fresh as the original "Men in Black" film, this sequel takes the story of the first one, rehashes it and sends it 5 years into the future. I really saw not point in this film being made, and quite honestly, it is a severe downgrade, which may turn a lot of fans off. There are scenes in this film that really show promise, and could have easily been used to make the first film longer and give it a little more style, but that is really all this film is, a bunch of pointless scenes, overcome but a stupid story. "Men in Black 2" is exhibit A of pointless sequels to a great film. This is a huge letdown!

  A useless and unnecessary sequel that blatantly recycles elements from the first movie. The jokes and gags from the first one are repeated, except, it is not as funny this time around. The film's role reversal with Jay teaching an amnesiac Kay on the tropes of being an agent just feels unnatural. Lara Flynn Boyle is severely misacted for the villain role. There are a few fleeting moments of genuine humor but even that is not enough to save this disposable cash-in on the superior (and cooler) first film. I suggest sticking with the original.

  Tommy and Will still have the chemistry that made the first MIB great, but this sequel is plagued by a useless love story, hit-and-miss comedy, an overdose of product placement, and one of the most poorly acted villains I've ever seen on screen. Besides those numerous flaws, it's still somewhat entertaining to a certain degree, though.

  As the first Men In Black film was enjoyable, this one is a pretty poor conceived sequel to a fairly good movie. The film is disappointing because it the potential to being something good, but it failed to capture the fun of the original film. I felt that this sequel was rushed, and lacked the creative elements that made the first film fun. The film is very silly, and not in a good way. The characters presented in the film are terrible, and some ideas are recycled from the first film. This is just a poorly made sequel to a good film. Either a sequel is good or isn't. Men in Black II is a bad sequel with bad performances. This sequel is lazy, uninspired garbage, and if you've enjoyed the first one, pass up on this one, because there's simply nothing going on that's good. In fact, the film is quite boring and it doesn't do anything good whatsoever. I think it's a real shame because they could've done something really good with the ideas in this sequel, but they fall through halfway through the film. The cast here are wasted and most of them are plainly awful. One performance that's very bad is that of Rip Torn, I was watching him go, and wonder what the hell he was doing. Men in Black II is a terrible film with a bad script, bad acting and a semi decent plot. If it was reworked a few times, I'm sure this film wouldn't have been as bad as it is, but it's a much uninspired, boring sequel to a good film. If you like the first film, pass up on this trash, you'll save your time.

  This film was terrible, a huge disappointment. This time around Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) have to stop another alien threat to the planet after she takes over HQ. This film had a plot so crappy I can't even explain, it focuses mainly on crappy jokes, horribly annoying aliens, and Will Smith. Its so dumb in fact you don't even remember what this movies about, only the stupidity. Will Smith isn't good, the film tries so hard at the start to make him look smart, but then when Tommy Lee comes on screen the movie tries to make him a dumbass again. What can I say, Tommy Lee Jones is the same as the first, straight face and serious attitude. Effects wre very cheesy and cliche, I believe this because I could see the green screen whenever they used it and if I couldnt it was still cheesy and totally Hollywood. They don't even try anymore, all these aliens look like drawings from at 3 year old boy. Johnny Knoxville plays a two headed villain whos a fool, THEY ARE F#CKING UP MEN IN BLACK! Lara Flynn Boyle plays the main villain Seerlina, the alien who transforms into her body after seeing a playboy magazine....... WTF? I hated this movie, horrible effects, plot, characters, and jokes, and I know im right.

  Less-than-excellent sequel, that offers decent entertainment value, but also a whole lot of lameness. I mean, Johnny Knoxville as a two-headed alien? Not the best of ideas there, nor casting for that matter. Thank God for Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones though. They can lift the weakest of scripts to something really worthwhile. Can't wait for the third film, which I hope will land more close to the awesomeness of the original.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were still great together and a lot of their moments were great. Laura Flynn Boyle is an amazing villain too, she definitely makes the plot work as much as it does. I think it was just a little too goofy at times and didn't really have that extra something that the first has. However, it was a sequel and ultimately couldn't be as original or fresh no matter how good it was.
